Daycare marketing
How childcare marketing works
Canada Create™ provides daycare and childcare marketing for licensed child care centres, home child care providers, Montessori schools, preschools, before and after school programs and early learning centres across Canada. We help you fill open spaces and waitlists with families who fit your program, through local search, a parent friendly website, careful advertising and follow up that turns inquiries into tours and enrolments.
Choosing child care is one of the most emotional decisions parents make. They are trusting you with their child for most of the week. Marketing your childcare business is therefore not about clever slogans; it is about showing safety, warmth, quality and practical fit (location, hours, age groups, fees, availability) so clearly that parents feel confident enough to book a visit.
How parents choose a daycare
Parents usually start looking months before they need care, often during pregnancy or parental leave. They search for daycares near home or work, ask friends and community groups, check reviews, compare fees and subsidy options and visit two or three centres. The questions they need answered:
- Is it licensed, safe and clean?
- Are there spaces for my child’s age, and when?
- What does a typical day look like, and what is the program philosophy?
- Who are the educators, and how long do they stay?
- What are the fees, and is the centre part of the federal and provincial fee reduction system?
- Do hours, meals and location fit our family?
Childcare marketing that answers these questions honestly earns trust before the tour.
Local search and Google Business Profile for daycares
“Daycare near me” is where many families start. Your Google Business Profile needs your real business name, the right category (child care agency, day care centre, preschool, Montessori school), accurate hours, photos of the space without identifiable children unless parents have given written consent, and genuine reviews from families. Never offer incentives for reviews. Our local SEO and SEO work then builds pages for each program, age group and location you serve, plus useful content for parents: how to prepare a toddler for daycare, what to pack, how subsidies work, how to compare centres.
Daycare advertising that respects families
Google Ads for active searches
When parents search “infant daycare” or “preschool near me,” they need answers now. Google Ads campaigns built around program and location searches send them to pages with availability, a virtual tour and a booking form. Job seeker searches for early childhood educator roles are excluded and sent to your careers page instead.
Facebook and Instagram
Local parent audiences on Meta respond to warm, real content: the playground in the morning, a craft table, a menu, an educator explaining the day. Advertising is aimed at parents, never at children. In Quebec, commercial advertising directed at children under 13 is restricted, and everywhere we keep the message for adults. Photos of children are only used with written parental consent.
Community presence
Family events, library and community centre bulletin boards, parent groups, local employers’ family benefit programs and partnerships with nearby schools still bring many enrolments. We help you coordinate them with your digital campaigns so families see a consistent message.
Licensing, fees and claims to get right
Child care is regulated provincially, and parents check. In Ontario, child care is licensed under the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014, and unlicensed home child care is limited in how many children it may care for. The Canada wide early learning and child care system aims to reduce fees at participating licensed centres toward an average of $10 a day. Describe your participation accurately, never promise future fee levels, and state clearly whether you are licensed and in which category. Do not use words that suggest a status you do not hold. Your marketing should also explain subsidy and fee information as it applies to your centre today, with a note to check current details. This is general information, not legal advice.
Privacy matters too. Child and family information never goes into analytics events or ad targeting, and enrolment forms collect only what you need, stored securely.
A daycare website parents trust
Your website is the first visit. We build childcare websites (see our web design service) with:
- A clear first screen: who you serve, ages, location, hours and a button to book a tour.
- Program pages for infants, toddlers, preschool, kindergarten and school age care.
- A “day in the life” page with schedule, meals, outdoor time and rest.
- Educator profiles with qualifications, shared with their permission.
- Health, safety and licensing information stated accurately.
- Fees, subsidy information and waitlist details.
- Online tour booking and a waitlist form.
- Fast mobile pages, accessibility to WCAG standards and secure forms.
From inquiry to enrolment
Parents often contact several centres at once and decide quickly when a space opens. We connect inquiries, calls and waitlist forms to CS+, Canada Create’s CRM, or to your child care management software. Families receive an instant reply with tour times, reminders before their visit and a follow up afterwards. Waitlists are kept organized with ages and start dates, so you can offer spaces fast when they open. Text and email messages follow CASL with consent and an unsubscribe, and enrolment and billing messages stay separate from promotions.
Recruiting educators
Open spaces mean nothing without qualified educators. Many centres run a second marketing program for staff: a careers page explaining your culture, training and benefits, job ads on the right platforms and referral rewards for current staff. We help you keep both programs running so growth is not limited by staffing.
Marketing a new or expanding centre
A new centre needs families before it opens. Pre opening marketing includes a website with a waitlist months ahead, a Google Business Profile once you have a confirmed address, open house events, local partnerships and targeted ads to families in the surrounding neighbourhoods. Expanding centres promote new rooms and age groups the same way.

Daycare marketing questions
How do I promote my daycare business?
Keep a strong Google Business Profile, build clear program pages, run focused ads to parents nearby, show real daily life with consent, follow up inquiries quickly and make tour booking easy.
What are effective marketing strategies for a daycare centre?
Local search, a parent friendly website, genuine reviews, open houses, community partnerships, Meta and Google ads aimed at parents and an organized waitlist.
How do parents find daycares?
Most search online for daycares near home or work, ask friends and parent groups, read reviews and visit two or three centres before deciding.
Can we post photos of children?
Only with written consent from parents or guardians. Many centres show spaces, hands and activities instead of faces.
Should our website show fees?
Explaining fees and subsidy or fee reduction information as it applies today helps parents decide. Never promise future fee levels.
How do home daycares advertise?
Home providers use a Google Business Profile where appropriate, a simple website, local parent groups and referrals, while stating their licensing status accurately.
Do you build daycare websites?
Yes. We build websites with programs, a day in the life page, fees, licensing information, educator profiles and online tour booking.
Who owns the accounts?
You do. Your website, ad accounts, social profiles and analytics belong to your centre.
How much does daycare marketing cost?
SEO starts at CAD 1,500 a month. Ads, website, waitlist and CRM work are quoted in writing, and ad spend is paid directly to the platforms.
