Editorial standards
CC Zone is the publication of Canada Create, a Toronto digital marketing agency founded in 2008 and BBB Accredited with an A+ rating. It is written for business owners and managers who want to understand search, advertising, websites and the rules that apply to marketing in Canada. This page explains how the articles are planned, written, checked and kept current, and who is accountable for them.
What we cover and why
We write about the decisions a Canadian business owner faces when marketing a business: choosing an agency, what a website should do, how search and advertising work, what Canadian rules mean for a campaign, and what to expect from each channel. Topics come from the questions clients and readers ask us, from changes announced by the platforms that affect Canadian businesses, and from what we see in our own work. We do not publish articles to fill a calendar.
Independence and commercial interests
Canada Create sells the services that many articles discuss. We say so plainly, and we write the articles so that they are useful whether or not a reader ever works with us. An article never recommends a service because we sell it, and it tells readers when a specialist agency, their own staff or no spending at all is the better choice. Where an article mentions a partnership or an arrangement that benefits Canada Create, the article says so (see the ownership and funding section on our About page).
Bylines and review
Every article carries the name of a real person who stands behind it, with an author page that shows their role, their experience and their other articles. We never publish under invented names, stock photos or generic team bylines. Amir Vincent, Editor-in-Chief, is the editor of record and reviews every article before it is published, including articles on legal, health, financial and insurance marketing.
Accuracy and verification
Facts are checked against the original publisher before an article goes live: a regulator’s own page, a platform’s own announcement, Statistics Canada, or the company that published a figure. Regulator wording is quoted from the regulator. Where we describe our own experience, we say that it is our experience. Where we are not certain, we say so rather than round up.
Dates and updates
Each article shows the date it was published and, when it has changed in substance, the date it was last updated. The updated date changes only when facts, advice or a correction change the article, never for wording or formatting edits. Articles about rules, prices set by platforms or product features are reviewed when the platform or regulator changes them.
Corrections and feedback
If you see an error, write to info@canadacreate.com with the article link and what you believe is wrong. We aim to review within two business days. Our corrections page explains what happens next and lists corrections we have made.
Unnamed sources and client examples
We do not use unnamed sources for facts. Examples from client work appear only with the client’s written consent, and figures from client accounts are never invented or rounded to make a point.
