Schools and tutoring
Education marketing built for how families choose
Education marketing helps colleges, career and training providers, language schools and tutoring centres explain their programmes and support enquiries from suitable adult learners, students and parents. Canada Create coordinates agreed SEO, Google Ads, website, content and follow-up work around your available places, teaching capacity and intake dates. You receive a defined scope and reporting that connects captured enquiries with recorded enrolments where the data allows. This page covers the choices for colleges, training providers and tutoring businesses in Toronto and across Canada; K-12 private and independent schools are covered on our private school marketing page. Admissions, educational delivery and enrolment decisions remain with your organization.
What education marketing really means for a school or tutor
A private school may need to explain entry years, tuition and its educational approach. A tutoring centre needs clear subject coverage, session availability and a way for parents to discuss fit. An adult training provider must explain prerequisites, the credential offered and the time commitment. These differences belong in your marketing brief; they do not establish a standard decision time or a guaranteed enrolment rate.
The aim is clear information and a practical next step for the people your institution can serve. A useful scope addresses:
- Visibility for your offer. Relevant search, advertising and website work for your actual programmes and service area.
- Credible information. Current teaching credentials, fees, delivery formats and substantiated outcomes approved by your team.
- Enquiry access. Suitable contact, tour or trial-session options with responsibilities for staff follow-up.
- Ongoing communication. Approved messages where you have an appropriate basis to contact the recipient.
- Useful measurement. Captured enquiries, bookings and enrolments considered alongside costs, capacity and reporting gaps.
For private and independent schools, our private school marketing service covers the coordinated admissions brief in more detail. Tutoring, language, test preparation, continuing education and professional training providers have different audiences and capacity constraints; we agree the relevant scope before recommending channels.
What an education marketing agency does for you
An education marketing agency can coordinate the work needed to present programmes, support enquiries and evaluate marketing expenditure. Canada Create offers search, paid advertising, website, content and administrative follow-up services under an agreed proposal. You can commission a focused piece of work or a coordinated engagement.
You should know what the agency will deliver, what your staff must provide and which decisions stay with your institution. Our proposal addresses:
- The starting point. Your existing website, eligible business profiles, accounts and enquiry handling, with access approved by you.
- Priorities and capacity. The programmes, subjects, campuses or intakes that need support, including limits on available places.
- Deliverables and responsibilities. The agreed pages, campaigns, content and supported connections, plus your approval and information requirements.
- Budget and timing. Management fees, platform spend, preparation time and dependencies recorded separately.
- Reporting and review. The captured activity, school-provided outcomes and costs that can inform your next decision.
An independent tutor may need a focused website and a limited advertising brief. A multi-campus institution may need coordinated programme information, separate campus responsibilities and reporting across several systems. We assess existing tools and staff capacity before proposing additional work.
How families and learners choose a school online
For children’s education, our campaigns address adult parents and guardians. For continuing education, the prospective learner may also be the purchaser, while an employer may fund the course. Your staff help identify the information each adult audience needs, without turning a learner’s academic, health or family circumstances into advertising audiences.
The website and enquiry experience should help prospective families or adult learners evaluate:
- Suitability. The ages, subjects, levels, prerequisites and educational approach you actually offer.
- Practical arrangements. Location, online or in-person delivery, schedules, transport where relevant and current availability.
- Evidence. Verified qualifications, programme status and outcome information with a clear context.
- Investment. Tuition or session fees, required extras and the provider’s published payment and refund terms.
- Next steps. Who can answer questions, how tours or assessments work and who makes admissions decisions.
These are evaluation needs, not a fixed journey every learner follows. The scope should reflect questions your own admissions or teaching team receives and the evidence it can supply.
Education advertising planned around capacity and budget
Google Ads can be part of an education marketing engagement when the programme, timing and budget are suitable. Approval and delivery depend on the platform. For school-specific buying considerations, see Google Ads for private schools.
Before commissioning advertising, agree:
- The programmes to promote. The actual subjects, entry years or courses with capacity, and the enquiries your staff can handle.
- The service area. The campuses, travel area or online markets your teaching and administrative teams can support.
- The campaign scope. The approved platforms, creative and destination pages, with additional production identified in the proposal.
- The financial commitment. Platform spend, agency fees and any proposed changes requiring your approval.
- The evidence available. Permitted enquiry and booking information, school-provided outcomes and known attribution limits.
Social advertising can support open houses and adult training intakes. Remarketing is considered only for eligible adult audiences after permission and platform checks. Academic records, minors’ data and sensitive learning or health information are excluded from our advertising audiences and payloads. An adult contact alone does not make every related event suitable for advertising measurement.
If you are comparing a lead vendor with agency-managed campaigns, ask about the source of contacts, permission for your intended communication, qualification criteria, sharing and duplicate or refund terms. A contact is not an enrolment, and neither option guarantees suitable enquiries. Platform accounts are set up in your name where permitted, with agreed agency access; data use remains subject to applicable requirements.
SEO and AI search for schools and tutoring businesses
SEO is an ongoing service for improving the quality and search accessibility of your education website. The buying decision is which pages, technical work and content support your organization needs, rather than a promised number of enquiries. Relevant scope can include:
- Programme and subject information. Clear curriculum, class size, schedule, teacher qualifications and next steps, using facts your team approves.
- Local SEO and Google Business Profile. Support for eligible in-person campuses and tutoring locations. Online-only businesses are not eligible for a profile. Our local SEO scope reflects the features actually available to your institution.
- Educator-reviewed content. Agreed admissions or programme information, with teaching facts and claims approved by the provider.
- Technical website work. An agreed scope for mobile usability, site structure and technical issues, with testing responsibilities specified.
- Search and AI visibility. Assessment of available visibility evidence without promises of rankings, inclusion or citation in AI answers.
Agree a review period and the measures available before work begins. Search results can change, and a page’s continued presence does not establish that marketing caused an enrolment. Our private school SEO service addresses the school-specific scope.
Your website is your admissions office
Your website should help a visitor understand the offer and reach the right person. Website work can be worthwhile when information is outdated, the mobile experience is difficult or staff are receiving questions the site should answer. The brief should address:
- Audience needs. Public information for prospective families and learners, with private staff or student systems kept distinct.
- Programme detail. Accurate course information, permissioned imagery and clear enquiry or application steps.
- Supported enquiries. Forms, contact details and booking connections with agreed testing and staff ownership.
- Substantiated credentials. Current teacher biographies, institutional status and approved evidence without implying accreditation you do not hold.
- Accessibility and usability. The applicable requirements, agreed tests and acceptance criteria, rather than an automatic conformance promise.
We offer education-site work through our WordPress development and web design services. Managed website hosting is a separate service, and ecommerce work can include supported course, material or tutoring-package purchases. The proposal confirms payment-provider dependencies, licences and what is included; hosting and ongoing maintenance are not automatically included in a marketing engagement.
Conversion rate optimization can assess the agreed enquiry experience using suitable tests and available data. It does not guarantee a higher booking rate. For a school website brief covering admissions information and school responsibilities, see private school website design.
Content, video and social media for schools
Content and video can help prospective families and adult learners understand what you offer. Choose formats your organization can support with current information, appropriate permissions and staff approval:
- School or programme videos. An agreed view of facilities, teaching or the learning experience, with participants and rights cleared for the intended use.
- Parent and learner information. Admissions steps, course choices, schedules and other questions your team can answer accurately.
- Student work and events. Material published only after permissions for the person, work, channel and purpose are confirmed.
- Staff and teacher profiles. Current qualifications and a clear description of their role, approved by the people and institution concerned.
Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn are considered against your audience, content resources and available results. The scope specifies content quantities, approval responsibilities and any paid distribution. AI-assisted research and drafting may be used with human editorial judgement and your final approval. Our social media service for private schools covers that channel-specific school brief.
Planning around the enrolment calendar
Your own timetable matters more than a generic seasonal plan. A September intake, rolling tutoring availability and a professional course offered several times a year can require different preparation. We plan from confirmed dates and capacity:
- Private-school admissions. Entry years, open houses, application deadlines, offers and available places.
- Tutoring and test preparation. Teaching availability, relevant subjects and the assessment or exam dates your team confirms.
- Continuing education. Cohort starts, registration deadlines and part-time or online schedules.
- Enrichment and early learning. Programme dates, age eligibility, staffing and any waiting-list arrangements.
- International recruitment. Approved information, language review and deadlines set by the institution and relevant authorities.
We build a calendar around your key dates and agree lead times for ads, emails and content, taking account of approvals, audience research and the time available before each intake.
Higher education and continuing education marketing
Colleges, career schools, continuing education departments and professional certificate providers market to adults who are weighing time, cost and career value. Their decisions are practical, and their questions are specific: when does the next intake start, can I study part time or online, what credential will I earn, and what do graduates go on to do?
A useful higher-education or continuing-education brief can cover:
- Programme information. Intake dates, delivery format, prerequisites, fees and the exact credential or completion document offered.
- Information sessions. Event details, registration and permitted administrative communications, with staff available to answer questions.
- Adult advertising scope. Suitable platforms and any eligible remarketing, subject to purpose, consent and policy checks.
- Outcome evidence. Only substantiated graduate or career information, with the cohort and limitations clear and no employment promise.
- Search support. Agreed website and content work through SEO, with results assessed over an agreed period.
Marketing for tutoring businesses and online tutors
A tutoring brief needs to match teaching capacity: the subjects and levels available, online or in-person delivery, the relevant time zones and the number of learners staff can support. An exam-related enquiry may be urgent, but that does not establish one response deadline or buying cycle for every provider.
- Subject and level coverage. Accurate descriptions of the math, science, languages, test preparation or university support you actually provide.
- Enquiry responsibility. Staff ownership and a realistic response expectation for calls, forms and assessment requests.
- Evidence of teaching. Verified qualifications, permissioned feedback and reviews only on eligible platforms.
- Fees and session terms. Current prices or an explanation of assessment-based quotes, together with your relevant booking policies.
- Online delivery. Clear platform requirements, schedules, service areas and what learners need to participate.
A Google Business Profile requires eligibility for in-person customer contact; an online-only tutor needs a different visibility scope. Multi-location centres may need campus-specific information and reporting, while an independent tutor may need a smaller engagement. If you teach music, see our music marketing service.
Nurturing inquiries through a long enrolment cycle
Enquiry follow-up should help staff respond consistently without confusing marketing permission with admissions records. The agreed administrative scope can include:
- Enquiry acknowledgements. Supported confirmations and expectations, tested within the agreed systems with exceptions assigned to staff.
- Approved follow-up messages. Information relevant to the recipient’s enquiry or permitted ongoing communication.
- Event and deadline information. Useful reminders where the purpose and permission allow them.
- CRM coordination. Supported connections to CS+ or an existing system, defined staff access and reporting on permitted enquiry records. Assessments, sensitive student records and admissions decisions stay with the institution’s appropriate systems and staff.
Commercial emails and texts require a valid basis under CASL, identification and unsubscribe arrangements where applicable. A direct response to an enquiry and later promotional messages can have different requirements. Your organization confirms permission and legal requirements with its advisers; we implement the agreed communication scope. See our admissions CRM service for the school-specific administrative brief.
Reviews and reputation for education providers
Review options depend on the institution and platform. Google disables reviews and ratings for profiles primarily categorized as general-education schools serving ages 6 to 18; other categories, such as universities and day care centres, are not automatically covered by that change. The proposal should reflect the features available rather than promise reviews for every school.
- Eligible review support. A defined scope consistent with platform rules, without incentives, selective positive solicitation or pressure.
- Other evidence of the experience. Current educator profiles, school visits, accurate programme details and appropriately permissioned stories.
- Response responsibility. An agreed approval and escalation process for public feedback, with student details kept out of replies.
- Permission for reuse. Separate authorization where a review or story is to appear in your advertising or other material.
- Realistic expectations. No promise of a review volume, score, platform reinstatement or enrolment outcome.
Privacy, consent and marketing to families
Marketing for children’s programmes is directed to adult parents and guardians. Before approving forms, photographs, video or communications, the institution identifies the information needed, the intended use and the required permissions. A general school-photo permission should not be treated as authorization for every advertising use; age, capacity and jurisdiction matter.
Administrative admissions reporting is separate from sending data to advertising platforms. Our scope keeps minors’ data, academic assessments and sensitive learning, health or financial details out of advertising audiences and payloads. Any proposed adult-enquiry measurement needs its own eligibility, purpose and permission assessment. Your privacy lead or adviser confirms applicable requirements and approved data flows; marketing services are not legal or regulatory advice.
International education marketing
An international recruitment brief must identify the programmes and markets the institution can support, the information applicants need and who will approve each language version. Marketing can present the offer; it cannot establish immigration eligibility, admission or a study permit outcome.
- Language scope. The agreed languages, translation work and competent review of each version.
- Market and service fit. The countries, time zones and communication capacity the institution approves.
- Accurate applicant information. Programme details, fees, accommodation arrangements and application steps supported by the institution.
- Partner information. Approved descriptions of actual education-agent or partner relationships, without implying authority they do not hold.
Canada Create does not provide immigration or study permit advice. The institution supplies and approves relevant official-information links and identifies who can answer admissions or regulated-advice questions.
How to choose the right education marketing agency
Lists of the best education marketing agencies are a starting point, but the right partner depends on your size, programs and goals. A university, a private elementary school and a single tutoring centre need very different plans. Before you sign with any agency, ask:
- Does the scope fit our provider type? Ask how the proposal addresses your actual programmes, staff capacity and intake dates.
- What will the reports establish? Ask which enquiries and enrolments can be matched and where source information will be missing.
- Who controls accounts and owns deliverables? Platform accounts are set up in your name where permitted.
- What are we paying for? Get deliverables, management fees, platform spend, third-party costs and the term in writing.
- Who is responsible for privacy and approvals? Confirm your institution’s responsibilities for claims, permission, sensitive records and final content approval.
- How will the teams work together? Know who provides information, approves work, handles enquiries and raises support requests.
Canada Create was established in 2008 and is BBB Accredited with an A+ rating. We offer services to organizations across Canada. Those business credentials are separate from any school’s accreditation or educational results; ask us to discuss the relevant scope and evidence for your project.
Specialist education agency or full-service digital agency?
Compare the proposed scope rather than the agency label alone. An engagement might cover one channel, a website project or coordinated search, advertising, content and follow-up. Check how the team works with your institution, what is excluded and which outcomes the available records can meaningfully show.
In-house marketer or agency?
The right arrangement depends on your staff’s skills and available time. Your institution can retain programme knowledge, family relationships and final approvals while commissioning defined specialist work. Agree responsibilities for content, events, accounts, enquiry responses and reporting so the agency complements the team you already have.
What does education marketing cost?
Costs depend on what you need, so we quote by proposal rather than by a fixed package. The main cost drivers are:
- The number of programs, campuses or subjects that need their own pages and campaigns.
- Competition for your searches in the areas you serve.
- The state of your website and tracking when we start.
- The channels you choose and how much content, video or email work is involved.
It helps to separate three types of cost: one-time setup such as website work, landing pages and tracking; monthly management of SEO, ads, content and reporting; and third-party costs and ad spend, which you pay to platforms such as Google and Meta. SEO engagements are custom-scoped, with a proposal after discovery. Other services are quoted after a short conversation about your goals. Request your custom proposal.

Measuring what matters: cost per enrolment
Marketing reports are most useful when enquiries, bookings and enrolments have clear definitions. We use the records your systems can capture and your institution is permitted to provide. A known source can support reporting, but it does not prove that a campaign caused the decision:
- Enquiries by source. Captured contact activity with unknown, duplicate or unmatched records identified.
- Tours, assessments or trial bookings. Relevant intermediate activity, distinguished from attended visits and completed enrolments.
- Recorded enrolments. Institution-confirmed outcomes for a defined intake, cohort or period.
- Cost per enquiry and enrolment. A stated cost base and period, distinguishing platform spend from management, website and other costs. Enquiry and enrolment counts must use consistent units.
- Retention and contribution. Where relevant records exist, returning enrolments and the costs of delivering education help inform the decision. Revenue alone is not profit.
You receive plain-language reports and a monthly conversation about what to change next. The report records completed work, results, limitations and the next priorities within your agreed scope.

Education marketing questions
What are the key education marketing strategies?
The key strategies for schools, colleges and tutoring businesses are search visibility for program and location searches, a website that answers admissions questions clearly, paid campaigns timed to intake dates, and nurturing that follows families or learners through a long decision. Reviews, social proof and open house events build trust. The right mix depends on your capacity, intake calendar and budget, and every channel should be measured against enrolments, not clicks.
Is education marketing likely to be replaced by AI?
AI is changing how education marketing is done, but it is not replacing the need for it. Families and learners now ask AI tools to compare schools and programs, so clear, accurate and well-structured information on your website matters more. AI can help draft content and sort enquiries, yet admissions decisions still depend on trust, real voices from your community and people who respond personally to questions.
What is integrated marketing communication for a school?
Integrated marketing communication means every channel tells the same story in a coordinated way. For a school or training provider, your website, search ads, social media, emails, brochures and open house presentations share the same messages, program details and next steps. That consistency builds trust with families and stops conflicting dates or fees from confusing them. It also makes it easier to see which touchpoints lead to applications and enrolments.
What are some examples of education marketing?
Examples include program pages that answer cost, schedule and outcome questions, search ads promoting an upcoming intake, open house and info session campaigns, student and parent testimonial videos shared with consent, email sequences for families who requested information, and Google Business Profile updates for each campus. Tutoring businesses often add subject and grade pages and local search campaigns. Each example works well when tied to a clear enrolment goal.
What is education marketing?
Education marketing helps a school, tutoring business or training provider present its offer and support enquiries from suitable families or adult learners. A commissioned service can include search, advertising, website work, content and administrative follow-up. Your institution approves the information and retains admissions decisions; marketing does not promise enrolments.
How is marketing for a tutoring business different from marketing a private school?
Tutoring scope depends on subjects, levels, session availability and online or in-person delivery. Private-school scope also needs entry years, available places, tours and application deadlines. Neither has one fixed buying cycle. We assess your own capacity, information and staff responsibilities before recommending the work.
What should an education marketing proposal include?
It should identify the provider type, programmes, audience, deliverables, quantities, responsibilities, approval steps, fees and term. Platform spend and third-party costs should be distinct from agency fees. Ask which enquiry and enrolment records can support reporting and what the service excludes.
Can you work with our educators and in-house team?
Yes. Your educators and administrators provide programme facts and approve the final content. We agree which search, advertising, website or content work to deliver and who manages enquiries. AI-assisted research and drafting may be used with human editorial judgement; any client-specific restrictions must be agreed in writing.
Should I buy education leads from a lead vendor?
Compare the source of contacts, permission for your intended use, qualification criteria, contact sharing and duplicate or refund terms. Compare those conditions with an agency-managed campaign and the costs you would incur. Neither route promises suitable enquiries or enrolments.
How long does education marketing take to work?
The proposal sets preparation and review periods around your intake dates, approvals and scope. Paid campaigns depend on platform approval and available demand; search work needs an appropriate observation period. Budget, competition, programme fit and your own enquiry handling affect results, so there is no fixed result date.
Do I need a marketing background to run my school marketing?
No. You need someone who can confirm the offer, provide access and information, approve work and coordinate staff follow-up. We explain the agreed services and available reporting in plain language. Your institution remains responsible for educational claims, admissions decisions and applicable requirements.
How will we assess the cost per enrolment?
Agree the period, enrolment definition and cost base first. A figure based only on ad spend is different from one including management, website and other costs. Reports identify unknown sources and incomplete records; an attributed enrolment does not by itself establish that marketing caused it.
How do you handle student privacy in education marketing?
We keep minors’ data, academic assessments and sensitive learning, health or financial details out of advertising audiences and payloads. Any adult-enquiry measurement requires a separate eligibility and permission assessment. Your institution confirms applicable requirements, approves content and uses appropriate systems for sensitive admissions records.
Can you market online tutoring across Canada?
Yes. We can scope marketing for the locations, languages, time zones and schedules your online tutoring service supports. An online-only business is not eligible for a Google Business Profile. The proposal identifies relevant platforms and responsibilities, without promising uniform demand or results across provinces.
