Google Ads, done for leads
How paid search works, and how we run it
Google Ads management for Mississauga businesses
Canada Create™ is a Google Ads agency that plans, builds and manages paid search for Mississauga businesses that want calls, form leads and booked jobs rather than a report full of clicks. Google Ads management is the weekly work behind a profitable account: choosing the searches worth paying for, writing ads that earn the click, sending each click to a page that converts, measuring what every lead cost and moving budget toward what produces customers. We have done this work since 2008 for businesses across Canada and the United States, and we run every account from the same principle: prove where the leads come from before spending more.
PPC, or pay per click, means you pay only when someone clicks your ad. That makes paid search one of the few forms of advertising where you can see, week by week, exactly which searches, ads and pages turned into enquiries. It also means a badly run account spends quietly every day, on the wrong people, with nothing in the report to show it. The difference between those two outcomes is management.
This page explains how we run Google Ads for local businesses, what each campaign type does, how budgets and billing actually work, what management costs and how to judge any agency, including us. If you want the short version, send us your website and your goals and get a proposal in one business day.
Are Google Ads actually worth it?
For most local service businesses, yes, when three conditions are met. First, people must already search for what you sell. Plumbing, dental care, legal help, renovation, HVAC repair, accounting and hundreds of other services are searched every day by people ready to call someone. Second, a new customer must be worth more than it costs to win one through ads, once your margin and repeat business are counted. Third, the account must be measured well enough that you know which part of the spend is producing those customers.
When those conditions hold, Google Ads is predictable in a way few channels are. You can start and stop it, raise or lower it with demand, test a new service or neighbourhood in weeks rather than months, and read the results in plain numbers. When they do not hold, ads are just an expense. That is why we tell some businesses honestly that paid search is the wrong first step, and that their website, their SEO in Mississauga or their Google Business Profile should come first.
The best way to answer the question for your own business is a short test built on the right foundations: tracking installed, a focused keyword list, a landing page that matches the search and a budget large enough to produce data you can judge. We would rather run a small, honest test than promise a result.
The campaigns we build and manage
Google now offers several campaign types, and each does a different job. Automation plays a bigger part every year. Used with good data and clear limits, it finds customers you would never have listed as a keyword. Used without limits, it spends on whatever converts cheapest, including enquiries you do not want. We choose campaign types by the job each one needs to do for your business.
Search campaigns
Search ads appear when someone types a question or a service into Google. They remain the core of almost every local account because they reach people at the moment they are looking. We build keyword themes around your services, add negative keywords before launch, group ads tightly so each ad repeats what the searcher asked for, and review the actual search terms every week. Google’s newer AI features for Search can widen matching and adjust ad text automatically; we switch them on deliberately, with brand and location controls in place, rather than accepting every recommendation.
Performance Max
Performance Max runs one campaign across Search, Maps, YouTube, Gmail, Discover and the Display network. It suits businesses with clear conversion values and enough conversion volume for the system to learn. We set brand exclusions, location limits and audience signals, supply real photos and video where possible, and check that it adds new customers rather than taking credit for people who would have found you through your own Search campaign anyway.
Local Services Ads
For eligible categories, such as many home services and some professional services, Local Services Ads appear at the very top of the results with a Google verification badge and charge per lead rather than per click. We help with the verification steps, keep the profile and service areas accurate, answer reviews and dispute leads that do not qualify. Local Services Ads and Search campaigns work well together, and we manage both from one plan.
Shopping and product feed management
Retailers and online stores need Shopping and Performance Max campaigns fed by a clean product feed. We set up Merchant Center, fix disapproved products, improve product titles and attributes so they match how people search, and group products by margin so the account spends most on what earns most. Shopping campaigns are judged on profit, not on revenue alone.
Remarketing, Demand Gen and YouTube
Most people do not buy on their first visit. Remarketing and Demand Gen campaigns bring back people who visited your site, watched a video or started a quote, through YouTube, Gmail, Discover and display placements. Frequency limits keep the ads useful rather than tiring. For considered purchases such as renovations, legal services or clinical treatment, this is where many eventual customers come back from.
Conversion tracking comes first
Many accounts we are asked to review share one fault: Google cannot tell which clicks became customers, so its automated bidding is guessing. Before any new budget is spent, we install and test the measurement stack. That means Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics 4, Google Ads conversion actions for calls, forms and bookings, call tracking where you agree to it, enhanced conversions for leads and, where your systems allow, offline conversion import, so that a booked job or a signed client is what the account learns from, rather than a submitted form alone.
We test every conversion with real calls and real form submissions before launch, and we set up consent settings on your website so that tracking respects your visitors’ choices. Tracking is not glamorous, but it decides whether every other part of the account works. An account with honest data can be improved every week. An account without it can only be guessed at.
Targeting the area you actually serve
A local campaign should reach the people who can become your customers and nobody else. We start from your real service area: the postal codes in your booking records, the neighbourhoods on your invoices and the distance your team or your clients are prepared to travel. Location targeting is then set to people located in those areas, not people who have merely shown interest in them, which is one of the most common and costly settings we correct.
Service businesses that travel to customers often earn less on distant jobs once driving time is counted. Campaigns can reflect that with stronger bids close to your base and lower bids or exclusions further out. Businesses that customers visit, such as clinics, restaurants and shops, can use location assets linked to their Google Business Profile so the ad shows the address, directions and hours. Ad schedules follow the hours your team can answer the phone, because a paid call that goes to voicemail is usually a lost customer.
Ads and landing pages that earn the click and the enquiry
Google scores every ad on expected click-through rate, ad relevance and landing page experience, and those scores affect what you pay. Each ad group gets ads written for the searches it targets: the service named plainly, a specific reason to choose you and one clear next step. Headlines and descriptions are tested continuously, and those that bring more qualified enquiries stay. Assets make ads larger and more useful: sitelinks to your main service pages, callouts for real advantages you confirm, call assets scheduled to your office hours, location assets and image assets using your own photos.
The landing page is where many accounts lose money. A searcher who clicks an ad for a specific service and lands on a general homepage with a slideshow usually leaves. We build or repair one landing page per campaign theme: a headline that repeats the search, a click-to-call number, a short form near the top, real proof such as licences, photos of real work and years in business, and one clear call to action. Because Canada Create™ also builds websites, the pages live inside your own site, load quickly on a phone and stay yours.
Budgets, daily spend and billing questions
Your ad budget is your own money, paid directly to Google from your own billing profile. It is separate from any management fee, and we never mark it up. The right budget depends on how competitive your category is, how many leads you need, what a customer is worth to you and how much data each campaign needs to learn.
Is $10 or $20 a day good for Google Ads?
It can be a sensible starting point for a narrow service in a low-competition category, with a tight keyword list, a short ad schedule and one good landing page. In competitive categories, a small daily budget buys very few clicks, which means very few conversions and too little data for automated bidding to learn from. The better question is what a customer is worth. If one new client is worth thousands of dollars over time, a budget that reliably produces a few of them each month is a good decision. If the budget is spread across many services and areas, none of them gets enough data to judge. We would rather concentrate a modest budget on the searches most likely to pay back, prove them and then expand.
Why did Google Ads charge me $500?
Google bills automatic payments when your account reaches its payment threshold or when the monthly billing date arrives, whichever comes first. As an account spends reliably, Google can raise that threshold, so charges may appear in larger, less frequent round amounts. A charge such as $500 usually means the threshold was reached, not that you were charged extra. The billing summary in your account shows each charge and the campaigns behind it. If a charge does not match what you expected, check the daily budgets, remember that Google may spend up to twice the daily budget on some days while keeping the monthly total within its limit, and look for campaigns or experiments you did not know were running. We review billing with every client as part of monthly reporting.
How do I claim a Google Ads promotional credit?
Google sometimes offers new advertisers a promotional credit after they spend a set amount within a set period. Offers, amounts and terms change and depend on the country and the account, so the only reliable source is the offer shown in your own account or sent to you by Google. Promotional codes are usually entered in the billing section of a new account, and the spending conditions must be met before the credit applies. A credit is welcome, but it should never be the reason to launch a campaign that is not ready to convert.
Where Google ads appear
Google ads appear in several places, depending on the campaign type. Search ads show above and below the regular results on Google Search, marked as sponsored. Local Services Ads show at the top of some local searches. Location-based ads can appear in Google Maps. Shopping ads show product images and prices in search results and the Shopping tab. Video ads run on YouTube, and display and Demand Gen ads appear on Gmail, Discover and a large network of websites and apps. A good plan uses the placements your customers actually use and excludes the ones that waste money, such as low-quality apps for a service business.
How we run your account from week to week
We begin with a review of your current account or, if you are new to Google Ads, your market, competitors and website. The first weeks cover tracking, account structure, ads, landing page changes and launch with a controlled budget. The weeks after that focus on removing waste: search term reviews, negative keywords, location and schedule corrections, and pausing anything that spends without producing enquiries. Next come tests of ads, offers and pages, with budget moving toward what works. By the third month the account usually has enough data to judge each campaign on cost per lead and, where sales data is connected, cost per customer.
Search term reviews protect your budget in a large market. Broad matching without supervision can spend on job seekers, do-it-yourself questions, supply stores, free services and areas you do not serve. We build negative keyword lists before launch, review search terms closely in the first weeks and regularly after that, and treat competitor brand terms with care, using them only where it makes sense and within Google’s policies.
Leads also need fast follow-up. Many paid enquiries are lost in the first hour, when a form goes unanswered or a call goes to voicemail. We help set up instant acknowledgements, missed-call text replies, booking links and reminders through CS+, the Canada Create™ CRM, or through your existing system. Your team marks the outcome of each lead, which feeds the reports and, where possible, Google’s bidding.
Every month you receive a report in plain numbers: spend, leads, cost per lead by campaign, the search terms that produced customers, what we changed and what we plan to change next. You own the Google Ads account and all its data.
Campaign plans by type of business
Home services and trades
Plumbing, HVAC, electrical, roofing, landscaping and cleaning companies live on emergency and seasonal demand. We use Search with call-focused ads during dispatch hours, Local Services Ads where the category is eligible, schedules that follow your crew capacity and negative lists that keep out do-it-yourself and job searches.
Dental, physiotherapy and health clinics
Clinics compete for a small number of valuable new patients. Campaigns are built around the services you want to grow, with booking as the conversion and remarketing to people who checked your hours but did not book, and ad copy written to respect the advertising rules of your profession.
Law firms and professional services
Legal, accounting and financial keywords are among the most competitive in paid search. We protect the budget with focused keyword themes, tracking that separates booked consultations from casual calls and landing pages that answer the searcher’s question before asking for the call.
Manufacturers, distributors and business services
Business buyers search during working hours, compare on capability and convert by quote request. Campaigns use business-hours schedules, specification-driven ad copy, quote forms with qualifying questions and, where your CRM allows, offline conversion import so the account learns which enquiries became orders.
Retail, restaurants and online stores
Shops and restaurants benefit from location assets, store visit measurement where eligible and offers timed to local demand. Online stores need Shopping and Performance Max with a clean product feed, judged on margin rather than revenue.
How Google Ads fits with SEO and the rest of your marketing
Paid and organic search work best together. Google Ads shows within weeks which searches and messages bring customers; SEO then builds pages that rank for them, so over time you pay less for your most valuable searches. Where a page already ranks strongly, ad spend on the same search can sometimes be reduced, and we test that carefully rather than assume it. Your Google Business Profile, your website speed and your follow-up process all affect the return on every ad dollar.
If you want one team to plan paid search, SEO, your website and lead follow-up together, our digital marketing agency in Mississauga page explains how those services connect. For the full detail of our paid search method, see our main Google Ads management page. SEO starts from CAD 1,500/month; Google Ads management and setup are quoted in writing.
What Google Ads management costs
There are always two separate costs. The first is your ad budget, which you pay directly to Google and control. The second is the management fee, which covers the work: setup or rebuild, weekly optimization, ads, landing pages and reporting. Canada Create™ quotes setup and monthly management in writing, never as a percentage of your ad spend, so our fee does not rise simply because you spend more with Google.
The quote depends on a few cost drivers: the number of campaigns and campaign types, the number of services and locations, whether tracking needs to be built or repaired, how many landing pages are needed, whether a product feed must be cleaned up, whether offline conversions are connected to a CRM and how often you want to meet. A focused account with one service and good tracking costs less to run than a multi-service account being rebuilt from scratch. Every fee is confirmed in writing before work begins.
Choosing a Google Ads agency in Mississauga
A few questions separate good management from expensive management. Will you own the Google Ads account and its data? How will conversions be tracked, and will reports show cost per lead and cost per customer or only clicks and impressions? Does the fee rise automatically when spend rises? Will you see the actual search terms your money bought? Who builds the landing pages? How are budget changes approved?
Our answers are simple. You own every account. Tracking is installed and tested before scaling. Reports focus on leads and customers. Fees are quoted in writing and are not tied to your spend. Landing pages are built inside your own site.

Google Ads questions from local businesses
How much does a Google Ads agency in Mississauga cost?
There are two separate costs: the management fee and your ad budget. Canada Create™ quotes setup and monthly management in writing after reviewing your account, based on the number of campaigns, services, locations, tracking work and landing pages. Your ad budget is paid by you directly to Google and is never marked up, and our fee is never a percentage of your spend.
Are Google Ads actually worth it for a local business?
Usually yes, when people already search for your service, a customer is worth more than it costs to win one, and tracking shows which spend produces customers. If any of those is missing, we will say so and suggest what to fix first, such as your website or Google Business Profile.
Is $10 a day good for Google Ads?
A client budget of $10 a day, about $300 a month, can test a narrow service in a low-competition category with a tight keyword list and one strong landing page. In competitive categories it buys too few clicks for automated bidding to learn, so results are slow and noisy. Concentrate it on one service and one area before spreading it wider.
Is $20 a day good for Google Ads?
A client budget of $20 a day, about $600 a month, gives a focused Search campaign more data, but whether it is good depends on what a customer is worth to you. If one new client covers several months of budget, it can be a sound start. We help set the budget from your customer value, not from a round number.
Why did Google Ads charge me $500?
Google charges automatic payments when your account reaches its payment threshold or on your monthly billing date. As spending becomes regular, the threshold can rise, so charges arrive in larger round amounts. Check the billing summary in your account to see which campaigns produced the charge, and confirm that no campaign or experiment is running that you did not expect.
How do I claim a $500 Google Ads credit?
Google sometimes offers new advertisers a promotional credit after they spend a set amount within a set period. Offers and terms change and vary by account, so use the offer shown in your own account or sent by Google, usually entered in the billing section. Make sure your tracking and landing pages are ready before you spend to qualify.
Where are Google Ads located?
Ads can appear above and below Google Search results, at the top of some local searches as Local Services Ads, in Google Maps, in the Shopping tab, on YouTube, Gmail and Discover, and on websites and apps in the Google network. We choose placements by where your customers actually are.
How fast will I see results from Google Ads?
Clicks start the day a campaign goes live, and leads usually follow within the first weeks when tracking and landing pages are right. A stable cost per lead takes longer, because automated bidding needs conversion data and we need search term data to tighten targeting. Judge the account at month three, not week one.
Can you take over an existing Google Ads account?
Yes. We review the existing account first, keep its history and conversion data, and rebuild only what is costing you money. The account stays in your own login and we work through manager access.
