Copilot and Bing AI answers

Be the page Copilot cites when your buyers research at work

Microsoft Copilot SEO is the work of getting your business cited when people ask Microsoft Copilot or Bing’s AI summaries for answers, recommendations and vendor comparisons. Copilot sits inside Windows, the Edge browser, Bing and Microsoft 365, which puts it in front of office workers, procurement teams and business owners at the exact moment they research suppliers. For a Toronto company that sells to other businesses, or to anyone who searches from a work laptop, being a cited source in those answers is worth real effort.

Copilot has one big advantage over other assistants for site owners: Microsoft tells you when it cites you. Bing Webmaster Tools now reports citations of your pages in Copilot and Bing’s AI answers, page by page. This page explains how Copilot finds sources, the Bing settings that decide whether you can be one, the AI reports that measure it, and what we do for clients. For the program across every assistant, see AI search optimization in Toronto.

Copilot answers start with Bing’s index

Microsoft describes its content controls as applying to “Bing Search and Copilot experiences powered by Bing”, and its AI Performance report covers Microsoft Copilot, AI-generated summaries in Bing and select partner integrations. In a December 2025 post on duplicate content, the Bing team also notes that many large language models rely on data grounded in the Bing index or other search indexes. The practical point is simple: if Bing has not crawled and indexed your page, Copilot has nothing of yours to cite.

That makes Bing a priority even for businesses that think of themselves as “Google only”. A site that has never been verified in Bing Webmaster Tools, has a sitemap Bing cannot read, or blocks Bingbot by accident in a firewall rule gives Copilot a silent reason to cite a competitor instead.

Five cards tracing how a page ends up cited in Microsoft Copilot, from Bingbot crawling and Bing indexing to the citation and Bing's report

Set up Bing Webmaster Tools properly

Bing Webmaster Tools is where every Copilot SEO engagement starts. The setup is quick, but the details matter.

Verify your site

Add your site in Bing Webmaster Tools and verify ownership. Once verified, you can see what Bing has crawled and indexed, inspect individual URLs, and open the AI Performance report. We verify the property that matches your live canonical address (with or without “www”), so the data is not split.

Submit sitemaps with honest lastmod dates

Bing’s July 2025 post on sitemaps in AI-powered search says sitemaps remain a foundational signal alongside IndexNow, and that an accurate lastmod value helps Bing decide which URLs to recrawl for search results and AI answers. Bing asks for ISO 8601 dates with a time, and warns against setting lastmod to the time the sitemap was generated when the page itself did not change. It also says the changefreq and priority tags are ignored. Some sitemap plugins stamp every URL with the current date; we fix that so the dates mean something again.

Use IndexNow for new and changed pages

IndexNow is a protocol that notifies participating search engines, including Bing, the moment a page is added, updated or removed. Bing says it helps keep AI answers referencing the current version of a page. For a business that changes prices, hours, menus or service details, IndexNow means Copilot is less likely to repeat last season’s information. We set it up so every published change pings automatically.

Inspect important URLs after changes

URL inspection in Bing Webmaster Tools shows when Bing last crawled a page and how it sees it. After a major change, such as a new service page or a corrected address, we inspect the key URLs and confirm Bing has the new version. Bing notes that changes can take from a few seconds to a week to be reflected.

Bing’s AI Performance report: see when Copilot cites you

In February 2026, Microsoft introduced AI Performance in Bing Webmaster Tools as a public preview. It is the closest thing any AI assistant offers to a citation report for site owners.

MeasureWhat Microsoft says it showsHow we use it
Total citationsHow many times your content was displayed as a source in AI answers in the periodThe headline trend for Copilot and Bing AI visibility
Average cited pagesThe average number of your unique pages shown as sources per dayWhether citations are spreading across your site or stuck on a few pages
Grounding queriesA sample of the key phrases the AI used to look up your cited contentThe questions your pages already answer, and the gaps beside them
Page-level citation activityCitation counts for specific URLsWhich pages to strengthen first, and which to protect during changes
Visibility trendsHow citation activity changes over timeBefore and after views around content and technical changes

Microsoft is careful about what the numbers mean. Total citations show how often your content is referenced, without indicating its placement in an answer. Average cited pages and page-level counts show citation patterns, not rankings or importance. The grounding queries are a sample. Read the report as a direction, not a scoreboard.

Topics Portfolio

On October 13, 2026, Bing added a beta tab called Topics Portfolio inside the AI Performance report. It groups the grounding queries where your site appears into broader topics, then shows three measures beside each one: Topic Size (the approximate citations across all sites for that topic), Sites Cited (how crowded the topic is) and Queries (how many distinct grounding queries it contains). It also lists Top Opportunity Queries: queries in your topics where other sites are cited and yours is not, with citation volumes shown as ranges. The tab only appears when your site has enough data.

For a Toronto business, this is the most useful planning view Copilot offers. It shows which topics you already own in AI answers, which ones are crowded, and which specific questions competitors are being cited for while you are not.

Turning the report into work

Bing’s own guidance on using these insights lines up with what we do:

  • Strengthen depth and expertise on pages that are already cited for certain grounding queries, by covering the related questions buyers ask next.
  • Improve structure and clarity with clear headings, tables and FAQ sections, which Bing says help surface key information and make content easier for AI systems to reference accurately.
  • Support claims with evidence, such as examples and data, so content is trustworthy when reused in an answer.
  • Keep content fresh and accurate, using IndexNow to notify Bing of each change.
  • Reduce ambiguity across formats, so text, images and video describe the same products and services in the same way.

Content controls for Copilot and Bing AI answers

Microsoft gives site owners several ways to limit how content is used in AI answers. Each has a cost in visibility, so we apply them only where you have a clear reason.

ControlWhat Microsoft says it doesWhen it makes sense
data-nosnippet attributeKeeps the marked section out of snippets and AI answers in Bing and Copilot; the page stays indexed and can rankA disclaimer, expired promotion or similar block you do not want quoted
NOCACHE meta value2023 Bing Chat rule: content may appear in answers, but only URL, title and snippet are shownRarely for a business that wants to be cited
NOARCHIVE meta value2023 Bing Chat rule: content is not included in or linked from AI answers; normal results unaffectedContent you do not want used in AI answers at all
robots.txt for BingbotBing respects robots.txt and other supported controlsKeep it open for every page you want cited

data-nosnippet for specific sections

Since October 2025, Bing supports the data-nosnippet attribute. Content inside an element marked data-nosnippet is still indexed and still counts for ranking, but Bing keeps it out of snippets and AI-generated answers in Bing Search and Copilot. Bing suggests uses such as subscriber-only text, legal boilerplate, cookie notices, expired promotions and volatile user comments. For most businesses, the useful applications are narrow: a disclaimer you do not want quoted on its own, or an old promotion you cannot remove yet.

NOCACHE and NOARCHIVE

In 2023, when the product was still called Bing Chat, Microsoft introduced two meta tag options for its AI answers. Content with NOCACHE could still appear in answers, but only its URL, title and snippet would be shown and used for training. Content with NOARCHIVE would not be included in the answers or linked from them. Pages with both tags are treated as NOCACHE, and both kinds still appear in normal Bing results. The post was written for Bing Chat, which Microsoft now calls Copilot, so we confirm the current behaviour in Bing’s documentation before relying on these tags for a client.

Bingbot and robots.txt

Bing says it respects robots.txt and other supported control mechanisms. The common problem is not a deliberate block but an accidental one: a security plugin, firewall or CDN that challenges Bingbot, or a robots.txt written years ago for a staging site. We check robots.txt, server logs and Bing’s crawl reports together, and confirm Bingbot receives the full page.

Duplicate pages make Copilot pick the wrong one

Bing’s December 2025 post on duplicate content and AI search visibility explains a risk that is easy to miss. When several pages on your site cover the same topic with similar wording, AI systems may group them into one cluster and choose a single page to represent the set, which may be an outdated or unintended version. Duplicates also slow how quickly updates reach AI answers, because crawlers spend time on the copies.

Typical sources of duplicates on Toronto business sites are old landing pages from past campaigns, near-identical city pages, printer-friendly or tracking-parameter versions of the same URL, and blog posts that repeat a service page. The fixes Bing recommends are clear canonical tags, consistent metadata, IndexNow and consolidation. We merge pages that compete with each other, redirect the old ones and make each remaining page answer one distinct need.

Local businesses: Bing Places and Copilot

Microsoft’s AI Performance announcement adds a note for local businesses: in addition to Bing Webmaster Tools, register with Bing Places for Business so your address, hours and contact information stay current and eligible for AI-generated answers to location-based questions.

  • Claim or create your Bing Places listing with the same name, address, phone and hours as your website and Google Business Profile.
  • Choose categories that match the services you want to be found for.
  • Update special hours for statutory holidays.
  • Link to the right location or service page.

We manage Bing Places alongside your Google Business Profile and other listings as part of local SEO in Toronto, so every listing tells the same story.

Why Copilot never cites some sites

When a business tells us Copilot never mentions it, the cause is usually on this list, and most of the items are quick to check.

  • The site was never verified in Bing Webmaster Tools, so nobody has seen Bing’s crawl errors or indexing gaps.
  • Bingbot is challenged or blocked by a firewall, CDN or security plugin, even though robots.txt allows it.
  • The sitemap is stale or unreadable, lists redirected or deleted URLs, or stamps every URL with the same date.
  • Important pages are near-duplicates of each other, so Bing’s AI systems pick an outdated one or none.
  • Key facts sit only in images, PDFs or scripts instead of text Bing can index and quote.
  • The page does not answer the grounding query buyers use. A service page that never explains pricing factors, timelines or eligibility gives Copilot nothing to cite for those questions.
  • No Bing Places listing, or one with old hours and an old address, which weakens local answers.
  • An old NOARCHIVE or NOCACHE tag left in a template from years ago.

Redesigning or moving your site? Protect your Copilot citations

Site migrations are where Copilot visibility is most often lost, because old URLs disappear and Bing has to relearn the site. Before a redesign, we export the page-level citation activity from the AI Performance report, so we know which URLs Copilot already cites. Those pages keep their content and get exact one-to-one redirects if their address changes. After launch we submit the new sitemap, send IndexNow notifications for the changed URLs, inspect the cited pages in Bing Webmaster Tools and compare citations against the pre-launch baseline for the following weeks. A redesign that ignores this can look fine in a browser while quietly erasing months of citations.

A Bing and Copilot checklist for Toronto owners

You can check these yourself in an afternoon before you hire anyone.

  • Sign in to Bing Webmaster Tools, or create an account, and confirm your site is verified under the address it really uses.
  • Open the sitemaps report and check that Bing reads your sitemap without errors.
  • Turn on IndexNow, through your content system or a plugin, so changes are sent to Bing as they happen.
  • Inspect your home page and your top three service pages, and note when Bing last crawled them.
  • Open the AI Performance report and write down your total citations, your most cited pages and a few grounding queries.
  • Search your site for near-identical pages on the same topic and decide which one should be the main page.
  • Claim or update your Bing Places listing so it matches your website and Google Business Profile.
  • Ask Copilot three questions your buyers ask, and note which businesses and pages it cites.

If the AI Performance report is empty, the sitemap has errors or Bingbot is blocked, those are the first things to fix.

Copilot for B2B buyers in Toronto

Copilot is built into the tools many companies use all day, which changes who uses it and how. An operations manager comparing managed IT providers, a controller looking for an accounting firm that handles cross-border payroll, or a property manager short-listing commercial cleaners may ask Copilot from inside the browser or the operating system they already use for work. Their questions are specific and commercial.

Pages that serve those buyers well tend to have:

  • Clear service definitions for each offer, with the problems solved, who it suits and what is included.
  • Comparison and decision pages that explain trade-offs honestly, such as in-house versus outsourced, or one approach versus another.
  • Proof that can be checked: named team members with real credentials, certifications you hold, industries you serve and project descriptions without invented results.
  • Security, privacy and compliance information where buyers need it, stated plainly.
  • Cost factors and timelines that explain what changes the price without publishing a figure you cannot stand behind.

If your buyers are other businesses, our B2B SEO services and Copilot SEO work together.

What our Copilot SEO service includes

After a free consultation, we write up a custom proposal for your business with the scope and fees. Most Copilot engagements include:

  • Bing setup and audit: Bing Webmaster Tools verification, indexing coverage, sitemaps with accurate lastmod, IndexNow, Bingbot access and crawl errors.

  • Content work driven by grounding queries: strengthening cited pages, closing opportunity queries and improving structure with headings, tables and FAQs.
  • Duplicate consolidation: merging competing pages, canonical tags and redirects.
  • Controls review: data-nosnippet, NOCACHE and NOARCHIVE applied only where you have a reason, and removed where they cost you visibility.
  • Bing Places and listings aligned with your website and Google Business Profile.
  • Monthly reporting from Bing’s AI Performance and search reports, tied to visits and enquiries from Bing and Copilot where your analytics can see them.

How Copilot fits with the other assistants

Because Copilot rests on the Bing index, the same work also helps other services that use Bing data. Anthropic, for example, says image results in Claude’s web search are powered by Bing (see SEO for Claude). For Google’s own AI features, see Google AI Overviews and AI Mode optimization; for OpenAI’s assistant, see ChatGPT SEO in Toronto. All of them depend on sound SEO services in Toronto, and our AI SEO program in Toronto brings the engine-specific work into one scope.

Before you start: questions owners ask

Is Copilot big enough to bother with?

For businesses that sell to other businesses, or to people who search at work, it is worth the effort, because Copilot sits inside tools those buyers already use. For a neighbourhood restaurant, Bing Places and a verified Bing Webmaster Tools account cover most of what matters. The good news is that the Bing groundwork is inexpensive, and the AI Performance report then shows whether Copilot is citing you, so you can decide how far to go with real data.

Can anyone promise citations in Copilot?

No. Copilot decides what to cite for each question, and Microsoft’s own report describes its numbers as citation patterns, not rankings. What we can do is make sure Bing can crawl and index the right pages, give Copilot clear, current, well-structured material, and show you in Bing’s own data what changes.

How quickly do changes show?

Bing says content changes can be reflected within seconds to a week after a recrawl, and IndexNow speeds up discovery. Citations depend on how Copilot answers questions in your category, which takes longer to shift. The AI Performance report shows the trend month by month.

Microsoft Copilot SEO in Toronto: questions buyers ask

How Copilot finds sources

What is Microsoft Copilot SEO?

Microsoft Copilot SEO is the work of getting your business cited in Copilot and in Bing's AI-generated summaries. It starts with Bing: verified Bing Webmaster Tools, clean indexing, sitemaps and IndexNow, open access for Bingbot, then content shaped by the grounding queries in Bing's AI Performance report, plus an accurate Bing Places listing.

Is Copilot an AI search engine?

For many people it now fills that role: Copilot replies in sentences and lists the sources behind its reply, where a classic engine would return ten links. Microsoft describes Copilot experiences as powered by Bing, and Bing Webmaster Tools reports when your pages are cited, which is how a site owner can see it at work.

Where does Copilot get its information about my business?

For web answers, from content in Bing's index. Microsoft's controls are written for Bing Search and Copilot experiences powered by Bing, and its AI Performance report counts your pages cited in Copilot. For local questions, Microsoft also points businesses to Bing Places for Business to keep address, hours and contact details current.

Does Microsoft Copilot use ChatGPT?

Microsoft does not describe Copilot's sources as ChatGPT's. For a site owner, the documented part is what matters: Copilot's web answers are grounded in Bing, and Bing Webmaster Tools reports when your pages are cited. Optimizing for ChatGPT is a separate task with OpenAI's own crawlers.

Does Copilot show which websites it used?

Yes. Copilot answers can display sources, and Microsoft's AI Performance report counts how often your content is displayed as a source in AI-generated answers across Copilot, Bing's AI summaries and select partner integrations, with the specific URLs cited.

What does powered by Bing mean for my website?

It means Bing's crawling and index are the foundation. If Bingbot cannot reach a page or Bing has not indexed it, Copilot experiences that rely on Bing cannot cite it. Verifying your site in Bing Webmaster Tools and checking indexing is the first step in any Copilot work.

Which Copilot answers does Bing's AI Performance report cover?

Microsoft says the report shows how publisher content appears across Microsoft Copilot, AI-generated summaries in Bing and select partner integrations. It does not split the numbers by every individual surface, so treat it as one combined view of Microsoft's AI answers.

Why does Copilot cite a competitor instead of my business?

Usually because Bing has a clearer, more complete page from them for that question, or because your page is not indexed, is duplicated or is blocked. The AI Performance report's opportunity queries show where others are cited and you are not, which tells us exactly which topics to work on.

Bing Webmaster Tools

What is Bing Webmaster Tools?

Bing Webmaster Tools is Microsoft's console for site owners. It shows what Bing has crawled and indexed, lets you submit sitemaps and inspect URLs, supports IndexNow, and now includes the AI Performance report that shows citations of your content in Copilot and Bing's AI answers.

Is Bing Webmaster Tools free?

Microsoft offers Bing Webmaster Tools to site owners without a fee; you only need a Microsoft account and a site you can verify. The effort is in setting it up correctly and acting on what it shows, which is where most businesses need help.

How do I set up Bing Webmaster Tools?

Sign in, add your site using the exact canonical address, verify ownership, submit your XML sitemap and enable IndexNow. Then check the indexing reports and inspect your most important URLs. Once data builds up, the AI Performance report shows your citations in Copilot and Bing AI answers.

How do I verify my site in Bing Webmaster Tools?

Add the site, then confirm ownership with one of the verification methods Bing offers, such as a DNS record or a file or meta tag on the site. Verify the version of the domain your site actually uses, with or without www, so your data is not split between two properties.

How do I submit my sitemap to Bing?

Submit it in Bing Webmaster Tools, or list it in your robots.txt file so Bing finds it automatically; Bing describes both methods. Bing recommends XML sitemaps, supports up to 50,000 URLs per file, and accepts gzip-compressed files.

Does Bing use the changefreq and priority sitemap tags?

No. Bing says optional sitemap tags like changefreq and priority are ignored and do not influence crawling or ranking. The lastmod value is what matters, as long as it reflects when the page content really changed.

What lastmod format does Bing want?

Bing asks for standard ISO 8601 dates that include both the date and the time. It also warns against setting lastmod to the moment the sitemap was generated, because the value should show when the page content last changed, not when the file was rebuilt.

What is IndexNow?

IndexNow is a protocol that lets your site notify participating search engines, including Bing, whenever a page is added, updated or removed. Instead of waiting for a recrawl, the search engine learns about the change right away. Many content systems can send these notifications automatically.

Does IndexNow help with Copilot?

Bing says accurate, current content matters for inclusion and citation in AI answers, and that IndexNow helps AI systems reference the latest version of a page by speeding up discovery of changes. It does not make a page more likely to be cited by itself; it keeps what Copilot reads up to date.

How do I check whether Bing has indexed a page?

Use URL inspection in Bing Webmaster Tools. It shows whether Bing knows the page, when it last crawled it and how it sees it. After a major change, inspect the URL again; Bing notes it can take from a few seconds to a week for changes to be reflected.

AI Performance report

What is the AI Performance report in Bing Webmaster Tools?

It is a report Microsoft introduced as a public preview on February 10, 2026. It shows how often your content is cited as a source in Microsoft Copilot, Bing's AI-generated summaries and select partner integrations, which URLs are cited, the grounding queries behind them and how citations change over time.

What are grounding queries in Bing's AI Performance report?

Grounding queries are the key phrases the AI used to look up content from your site that then appeared as a source in an answer. Microsoft says the list is a sample of overall citation activity. They show which questions your pages already answer for Copilot, and the related questions you could answer next.

What does total citations mean in Bing's report?

It is the number of times your content was displayed as a source in AI-generated answers during the period you select. Microsoft notes it shows how often you are referenced, not where you appeared within an answer or how prominent the mention was.

What does average cited pages mean?

It is the average number of unique pages from your site shown as sources in AI answers per day over the selected period. A rising number means more of your pages are being used, rather than the same one or two. Microsoft says it reflects citation patterns, not ranking or authority.

What is Topics Portfolio in Bing Webmaster Tools?

Topics Portfolio is a beta tab added to the AI Performance report on October 13, 2026. It groups the grounding queries where your site appears into broader topics and shows each topic's size, how many sites are cited for it and how many queries it contains, plus opportunity queries where others appear and you do not.

What are opportunity queries in Topics Portfolio?

They are queries within your topics where other sites are cited in AI answers and yours is not. Bing shows their citation volumes as ranges. They are a ready-made list of the questions to answer better, ideally on pages that are already cited for related queries.

Why can I not see Topics Portfolio in my account?

Bing says the Topics Portfolio tab appears only when there is sufficient data for your site. A newer or smaller site may need more citation activity first. The main AI Performance views, such as citations and cited pages, can still be useful in the meantime.

Does a citation count show my ranking in Copilot?

No. Microsoft says the numbers describe how often your pages are cited, not their ranking, importance or placement in an answer. Use them to see direction and to compare pages and topics, alongside visits and enquiries from Bing and Copilot.

How often should I review Bing's AI Performance data?

Monthly is enough for most businesses, with an extra look after any major site change, migration or new section. Compare cited pages and grounding queries before and after each change, and watch for pages that suddenly lose citations, which can signal a crawl or indexing problem.

Controls and crawling

What is Bingbot?

Bingbot is the crawler Bing uses to discover and index web pages. Because Copilot experiences are powered by Bing, Bingbot's access to your site determines what Copilot can draw on. It follows robots.txt, so check that your rules and any firewall settings let it reach the pages you want cited.

Does blocking Bingbot remove my site from Copilot?

Blocking Bingbot stops Bing from crawling those pages, and pages Bing cannot crawl and index are not available as sources in Bing-powered answers. If you want to appear in Copilot, keep Bingbot allowed and use narrower controls, such as data-nosnippet, for anything you do not want quoted.

What does data-nosnippet do in Bing?

Content inside an HTML element marked data-nosnippet is still indexed and still counts for ranking, but Bing keeps it out of search snippets and AI-generated answers in Bing and Copilot. Bing introduced support for it on October 15, 2025. Use it on small sections, not whole pages.

Should I use NOCACHE or NOARCHIVE for Copilot?

Only with a clear reason. Under Microsoft's 2023 rules for what was then Bing Chat, NOCACHE limits answers to your URL, title and snippet, and NOARCHIVE keeps content out of the answers entirely, while both still appear in normal Bing results. Most businesses that want to be cited should use neither.

Can I keep content out of Copilot answers but stay in Bing results?

Yes. Microsoft's NOARCHIVE value was designed to exclude content from its AI answers while it still appears in Bing search results, and data-nosnippet can do the same for specific sections. Weigh the trade-off: content kept out of answers cannot earn citations.

Does Bing respect robots.txt for AI answers?

Microsoft says Bing respects all content owner preferences expressed through robots.txt and other supported control mechanisms, and repeated that in its AI Performance announcement. That makes robots.txt the first place to check when pages are missing from Copilot answers.

Can my firewall or CDN block Bingbot?

Yes. Security plugins, hosting firewalls and CDNs sometimes challenge or rate-limit crawlers, including Bingbot. The result looks like a healthy site to visitors but a broken one to Bing. We compare server logs with Bing's crawl reports to catch it.

How long does Bing take to reflect my changes?

Bing says it can take from a few seconds to up to a week for content changes to be reflected in search results, depending on its crawl schedule. IndexNow shortens discovery. Changes in how often Copilot cites you take longer, because they depend on answers to many questions.

Content and local

What kind of content does Copilot cite?

Bing's guidance points to pages with clear subject focus and expertise, clear headings, tables and FAQ sections, claims supported by examples and data, and current information. Pages cited for certain grounding queries can be deepened to cover the questions buyers ask next.

Do FAQ sections and tables help in Copilot answers?

Bing says clear headings, tables and FAQ sections help surface key information and make content easier for AI systems to reference accurately. Build them from real buyer questions, keep answers direct, and make sure tables use plain text rather than images.

Does duplicate content hurt visibility in Copilot?

It can. Bing explains that AI systems may group near-duplicate pages into one cluster and choose one to represent the set, possibly an outdated or unintended version, and that duplicates slow how quickly updates reach AI answers. Consolidating competing pages helps Copilot pick the right one.

How do I fix duplicate pages for Bing and Copilot?

Bing recommends clear canonical tags, consistent metadata and IndexNow, and consolidating pages that serve the same intent. In practice we merge near-identical pages, redirect the old URLs to the survivor and make each remaining page answer one distinct need.

Should sites that republish my articles link back to the original?

Yes. Bing says syndicated copies create duplicate content across domains and recommends asking partners to add a canonical tag pointing to your original URL where agreements allow, or to syndicate excerpts with a clear link back to the source.

Does Bing Places matter for Copilot?

Yes for local businesses. Microsoft's AI Performance announcement recommends registering with Bing Places for Business so your address, hours and contact details stay current and eligible for AI-generated answers to location-based questions.

How does a Toronto business appear in Copilot answers for local questions?

Keep a complete Bing Places listing that matches your website and Google Business Profile, make sure Bing has indexed your location and service pages, and state your service areas in text. Then watch the AI Performance report for local grounding queries that mention your services.

Do images and video affect how Copilot describes my business?

What does Copilot SEO include at Canada Create?

Bing Webmaster Tools setup and audit, sitemaps with honest lastmod, IndexNow, Bingbot access checks, an AI Performance baseline, content work driven by grounding and opportunity queries, duplicate consolidation, a review of Bing's content controls, Bing Places alignment and monthly reporting from Bing's own data.

How much does Copilot SEO cost in Toronto?

The fee reflects your site's size, how much Bing groundwork is missing and how many topics you want covered. We quote it in writing in a custom proposal after a free consultation, with any third-party costs shown separately.

How long does Copilot SEO take?

Bing setup and access fixes are usually done in the first weeks, and Bing reflects page changes within days once it recrawls. Citation patterns take longer to move, because they depend on many answers in your category. The AI Performance report gives a monthly read on progress.

Is Copilot SEO different from Bing SEO?

It builds on Bing SEO and adds the AI layer: grounding queries, citation reports, Topics Portfolio and Bing's content controls for AI answers. Good Bing indexing is the prerequisite; Copilot SEO is about being the page that gets cited once you are indexed.

Do I need Copilot SEO if my customers mostly use Google?

The Bing groundwork is inexpensive and also supports other services that use Bing data, so it is worth doing for almost every business. How far to go beyond that depends on your buyers. B2B companies and firms whose clients search at work usually benefit most.

Can I do Copilot SEO myself?

You can do the basics: verify Bing Webmaster Tools, submit a sitemap, turn on IndexNow, claim Bing Places and check the AI Performance report monthly. Help is useful when the report shows opportunity queries you cannot cover in-house, or when duplicates and crawl problems need technical fixes.

Is Copilot SEO worth it for B2B companies in Toronto?

Often yes. Copilot sits inside the tools business buyers use at work, and their questions are specific and commercial: vendor comparisons, compliance requirements, costs and timelines. Pages that answer those questions clearly, and that Bing has indexed, are the ones Copilot can cite.
