Google Workspace promo code: how to get 10% off your first year in Canada

This guide supports our managed IT services.

Workspace 10% off: a silver coupon ticket with a red tag breaking out of a laptop screen showing an email icon

A Google Workspace promo code takes 10% off the per-user price of Business Starter or Business Standard for your first year. Google calls these promotion codes. Each one works once, for one new customer account, and Google gives them to members of its Workspace referral program to pass on to businesses one at a time. That is why a real code comes from a person or a company you contact, and why the codes posted on coupon sites so often fail at checkout.

Canada Create can send your business one of these codes. Ask for it before you start your sign-up, because in Canada and the United States the code has to go in when you enter your billing details, and Google does not let you add it afterwards.

Get your 10% Google Workspace promotion code

Email us your business name, your country, the plan you want (Business Starter or Business Standard) and the number of users. Tell us the business has never had Google Workspace or a Workspace trial. We reply with one code during business hours, Monday to Friday, 9 am to 6 pm, and Saturday, 10 am to 2 pm.

The discount follows Google’s promotion code terms.

What a Google Workspace promotion code gives you

The terms are short, and they are the same whether you find a code here or anywhere else:

  • 10% off the per-user price for your first year as a Google Workspace customer.
  • It works on Business Starter and Business Standard. Business Plus and the Enterprise plans are not covered.
  • Each code is unique and can be redeemed by one customer account. Each code is issued for one of the two plans, so use a Starter code with Starter and a Standard code with Standard.
  • Google allows one promotional discount per customer, and only on online sign-ups.
  • The discount is applied monthly across the subscription, so you see it on each bill rather than as one credit.
  • Because you can add users or change plans, the dollar value of the discount moves with your bill. The percentage stays at 10% for the first year.

Codes are not transferable and may not be sold or traded. If you see someone selling a “Google Workspace coupon”, walk past it.

Who qualifies for a code

Google built these codes for businesses that are new to Workspace. You qualify when:

  • Your business has never started a Google Workspace trial and has never paid for Workspace, directly from Google or through a reseller.
  • You are not a current customer of a Google Workspace partner.
  • You are signing up online, directly with Google, and you are in Canada, the United States or another country in the Americas that Google’s program covers.
  • You are a business or someone starting a business without a Workspace account. Government bodies and government-owned organizations are not eligible.

You do not need a large team. Business Starter, Standard and Plus can be bought for one user up to 300 users.

Google says the annual plan saves 16% compared with the Flexible plan, which is billed monthly with no yearly commitment, so Flexible prices are higher. The final price for your business shows on the billing summary before you finish signing up.

Here is what 10% means in dollars. Ten users on Business Starter cost about $1,104 a year at $9.20 each, so the code saves about $110 in the first year. Ten users on Business Standard cost about $2,208 a year, so the code saves about $221. Both figures are before tax.

Business Starter covers custom email at your domain, Meet, Calendar, Drive and Docs, and Google’s Gemini assistant in Gmail. Business Standard adds much more storage, meeting recordings and other features busy teams use. Compare the plans on Google’s page before you pick one, because a Starter code will not carry over if you later move up to Standard.

How to apply your Google Workspace promo code

Have your code ready before you open the sign-up. In Canada, the United States and Europe, Google asks for the code on the billing step, and that is the only chance to enter it.

  • Ask us for a code for the plan you want, Business Starter or Business Standard.
  • Open the sign-up with this Google Workspace sign-up link and choose the same plan.
  • Enter your business name, the number of users and your country.
  • Use a domain you already own or buy one during sign-up. Google checks that you own it in a later step.
  • Create the first administrator account. This is your main admin login, so use a strong password and turn on 2-step verification right away.
  • When Google asks for your payment information, type the code into the “Promotion code” field before you check out.
  • Check the billing summary. A line that says the amount is shown “minus the promotional discount” means the code worked.
  • Finish the sign-up. Your 14-day trial starts, and billing begins after it with the discount applied.

Promo code or Google’s own sign-up offer?

Google sometimes runs its own introductory offers for new customers. On November 2, 2026, the Canadian pricing page showed up to 50% off the first three months for a limited time. Google’s promotion code terms allow one promotional discount per customer, so a code may not stack with an offer Google already applies at checkout.

The simple test is the billing summary. Enter the code, read the total, and compare it with the total without the code. Keep the lower first-year cost. If Google’s own offer wins, you can still start from our sign-up link and skip the code.

Annual plan or Flexible plan

The annual plan has the lower monthly price per user, and you commit to the year. The Flexible plan costs more per user but lets you add and remove users month by month, which suits a team that is still hiring or that uses seasonal staff.

The promotion code works on both, with one condition that matters. Google’s terms say a customer who ends an annual plan early is charged the full value of the annual plan less the discount, and a discount on the Flexible plan is void if the customer ends the plan before the end of the discount period. Choose the plan you expect to keep for the first year.

Why a Google Workspace promo code doesn’t work

Most failed codes come down to one of these:

  • The trial already started. In Canada and the United States, you cannot add a code after you finish the sign-up. A new sign-up with the same business usually counts as an existing customer.
  • The business has used Workspace before. That includes an old trial, an old G Suite account or an account bought through a reseller or a web host’s email bundle.
  • The plan does not match the code. Starter codes go with Business Starter and Standard codes with Business Standard. Business Plus and Enterprise take no code.
  • The code was already used. Each code works once, and codes posted on coupon sites are usually gone within hours.
  • The country is outside the code’s region. Codes work in the region the referrer signed up for, so a code from a European or Asia Pacific referrer will fail for a Canadian business.
  • Another discount is already on the order. Only one promotional discount applies per customer.
  • The code was typed in the wrong place. It goes in the “Promotion code” field on the payment step, before checkout.

Publicly posted codes are also against Google’s program rules. Google treats posting codes on discount and coupon websites as misuse. A code sent to you directly is the dependable route.

Is there a cheaper way to get Google Workspace?

A few choices change the bill more than any code:

  • Start on Business Starter if 30 GB per person is enough and move up only when you need to.
  • Pay annually if your headcount is stable.
  • Buy seats only for people who need their own mailbox. Shared addresses such as info@ or sales@ can be groups or aliases at no extra cost per address.
  • Registered charities can apply for Google Workspace for Nonprofits, which has a no-cost edition for eligible organizations.
  • Use a promotion code at sign-up for 10% off the first year.

Setting up Google Workspace for your business

Signing up takes a few minutes. Setting Workspace up so mail arrives, nothing bounces and nobody loses access takes longer. A clean setup covers:

  • Verifying your domain and pointing its MX records at Google.
  • SPF, DKIM and DMARC records, so your mail reaches inboxes and nobody can send mail that pretends to be you.
  • Moving old email, contacts and calendars from your previous provider.
  • User accounts, groups and shared addresses such as info@ and billing@.
  • Shared drives, so files belong to the business and stay when a person leaves.
  • 2-step verification for every user, recovery details for the admin account, and a backup plan for mail and files.

If you would rather hand this to a team, Canada Create sets up and supports Google Workspace for Canadian businesses through our managed IT services in Toronto. We also look after data backup, cloud security and website hosting, so your domain, website and email are managed in one place. If you are still weighing Workspace against Microsoft 365, our IT consulting team can help you choose.

Once your team is on Workspace, two of our guides cover the tools around it: shared inbox tools for answering customer email together and video conferencing software, including Google Meet.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a promo code for Google Workspace?

Yes. Google issues promotion codes that take 10% off the per-user price of Business Starter or Business Standard for the first year. Each code works once for one new customer, and Google hands them to members of its referral program to pass on individually. You can [request a code from Canada Create](mailto:info@canadacreate.com?subject=Google%20Workspace%20promotion%20code%20request).

How much does a Google Workspace promo code save?

10% of the per-user price for your first year. On the annual plan in Canada, ten Business Starter users at $9.20 each cost about $1,104 a year before tax, so the code saves about $110. Ten Business Standard users at $18.40 each save about $221 in the first year.

Is there a Google Workspace promo code for Canada?

Yes. Codes from a referrer enrolled in the Americas work for businesses in Canada, the United States and the other Americas countries in Google's program. In Canada, the code must go in the "Promotion code" field when you enter your billing details, before you finish the sign-up.

Can I add a Google Workspace promo code after my trial starts?

Not in Canada, the United States or Europe. Google only accepts the code on the billing step of the original sign-up. Businesses in Latin America and Asia Pacific can add it during the 14-day trial if they have not yet entered billing details.

Does the promo code work on Business Plus or Enterprise?

No. Promotion codes cover Business Starter and Business Standard only, and each code is issued for one of those two plans. Business Plus and the Enterprise plans are priced without a code.

Why is my Google Workspace promo code not working?

The usual reasons are that the trial already started, the business used Workspace or a Workspace trial before, the code is for a different plan, the code was already used, the code comes from another region, or another discount is already on the order. Codes taken from coupon sites are often already redeemed.

Can I combine a promo code with Google's own discount?

Google's terms allow one promotional discount per customer, so a code may not stack with an introductory offer Google applies at checkout. Compare the billing summary with and without the code and keep the lower first-year cost.

Does Google Workspace offer a free trial?

Yes. New business customers get a 14-day trial. In Canada you enter billing details and any promotion code when you start the trial, and billing begins when the trial ends.

Is there a cheaper way to get Google Workspace?

Start on Business Starter, pay annually if your headcount is stable, buy seats only for people who need their own mailbox and use groups or aliases for shared addresses, and apply a promotion code at sign-up. Registered charities can apply for Google Workspace for Nonprofits, which has a no-cost edition for eligible organizations.

Why is Google Workspace so expensive now?

Google added its Gemini AI features to the Business plans in 2025 and raised prices at the same time. On November 2, 2026, Google's Canadian pricing page listed Business Starter at $9.20, Business Standard at $18.40 and Business Plus at $28.70 per user per month on the annual plan, before tax.

Are Google Workspace coupon sites legit?

Be careful. Each real code works once, Google treats posting codes on discount and coupon sites as misuse, and codes are never meant to be sold. A code sent to you directly by someone in Google's referral program is the dependable route.

Can Canada Create set up Google Workspace for my business?

Yes. Our managed IT services team sets up and supports Google Workspace for Canadian businesses, including domain verification, email records, migration from your old provider, user accounts, shared drives and 2-step verification.
