Plan, design, build, launch

How we plan, design and build your website

Good web design in Edmonton starts with how people here actually choose a business: on a phone, often in a hurry, usually after comparing two or three options and checking whether the company is real. Canada Create™ designs and builds business websites that answer those buyers quickly, load fast on a winter commute, show up in local search and make the next step obvious. We have worked with businesses across Canada since 2008, and we are BBB Accredited with an A+ rating. This page is a practical guide to what an Edmonton business website needs, what shapes the price and how to avoid the common ways a redesign goes wrong.

How Edmonton customers choose

Edmonton is a city of about one million people inside a region of about 1.4 million, split by the North Saskatchewan River valley and ringed by Anthony Henday Drive. Customers think in terms of the south side, the north side, the west end, downtown and Whyte Avenue, and in terms of nearby towns such as Sherwood Park, St. Albert, Spruce Grove and Leduc. A website that says only “serving the Edmonton area” tells them nothing. One that names the parts of the city and the towns you actually visit, and shows how to reach you from them, earns the call.

The decision itself looks different by buyer. A homeowner with a failed furnace wants a phone number and proof you answer. An office manager choosing an accountant wants credentials, a clear scope and a way to book. A purchasing lead at an energy services or construction firm wants capabilities, safety information and a named contact. A student or a hospital employee wants hours, parking and a booking link. One generic home page cannot serve all of them, so the structure of the site should follow the decision, not the org chart.

Site structure that matches the decision

Start with the questions buyers ask and give each important answer its own page.

One page per service, one page per audience

A service page should cover what the work involves, who it suits, how it proceeds, what affects the cost and what to do next. If you offer furnace repair and duct cleaning, those are two pages. If you serve homeowners and property managers differently, give each group a page that speaks to them.

Location pages only where they earn their place

A business with a real second location, or a real service area outside the city, can support a page for it with a real team, real hours, directions and photographs. Near identical pages for every suburb rarely rank and make the site look thin. A single strong service area section is often better.

A navigation that fits a thumb

Five or six clear menu items, a visible phone button on mobile and a booking or quote link that stays reachable. Visitors should never have to hunt for the contact page on a phone.

Speed on a phone in winter

Much of the traffic to local sites arrives on phones during the commute, in a cold parking lot or on a job site with patchy coverage. Slow pages lose those visitors before the first image appears. We build pages that load quickly on a mobile connection by sizing and compressing images properly, limiting scripts, choosing sound hosting and keeping layouts stable while loading. We test on real phones, not only in a desktop simulator, and we avoid auto playing video and heavy sliders that look impressive in the office and punish customers on the road.

Speed also affects behaviour in a particular Edmonton way. When the temperature drops, searches spike for urgent services, and the people searching are impatient. A page that shows the phone number, the hours and the service area in the first screen can win the job before a slower competitor finishes loading.

Local search readiness

A new site should be ready for local search on the day it launches. That means unique page titles and descriptions, a logical heading structure, clean addresses for every page, a sitemap, structured data that describes the business and its services, and consistent business details that match your Google Business Profile. If the profile lists Sherwood Park hours, the site should say the same thing. Our Edmonton SEO page explains the ongoing search work, and our local SEO service shows how we approach it.

Newer search features and AI answers read websites much as search engines do. Plain language, direct answers to real questions and accurate details help both, and no one can promise to be quoted.

Forms, calls and tracking

A website that cannot show where enquiries come from forces you to guess. We set up supported measurement for calls, form submissions and bookings so you can see which pages and sources produce enquiries, with the limits of that measurement explained.

  • Short forms. Ask only what you need to respond: name, phone or email, what they need and where they are. Every extra field loses people.
  • Tappable numbers. Every phone number on a mobile screen should be one tap away, with a toll free line or after hours route if you take emergency calls.
  • Call tracking. Where it makes sense, we separate calls from search, ads and your profile so you know what is working.
  • Follow-up. An enquiry that waits a day often goes to a competitor. Our CRM service, built on CS+, can send an acknowledgement and remind your team.

Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act expects you to be clear about why you collect details and to protect them. Forms should say how information will be used, and commercial emails or texts need consent under CASL. This is a marketing observation, not legal advice.

Content that proves expertise

Edmonton buyers are practical and sceptical of vague claims. The pages that convert show proof you can check: credentials and memberships you actually hold, photographs of your own work and team, plain explanations of process, and answers to the questions customers ask before they call. A roofing company can explain how hail and freeze thaw cycles affect shingles. A clinic can explain what a first visit involves. A fabrication shop can describe the equipment, tolerances and certifications that matter to an engineering buyer.

We write from interviews with you and your team, then you approve every page. Reviews appear live from Google, and we do not invent testimonials. Regulated professions such as dental, legal, medical and financial services must also follow their college or law society advertising rules, and we prepare content for your review against those rules.

Accessibility

Accessible sites are easier for everyone to use, including a customer wearing gloves on a small screen. We design for sufficient contrast, readable type, keyboard navigation, clear form labels, meaningful link text and descriptive image alternatives, and we test against the accessibility standard and coverage agreed in your proposal. Organizations that serve the public, including government related and institutional buyers around the Legislature and the university, increasingly ask suppliers about accessibility, so it is a sales point as well as good practice.

Redesigning without losing rankings

The most expensive redesign mistake is a launch that wipes out the traffic you already earned. Before any change we inventory the pages that attract visitors and enquiries, decide which addresses stay the same, map the ones that must change to the most relevant new pages with permanent redirects, and keep useful content instead of rewriting it for its own sake. After launch we check indexing, errors and traffic on the pages that matter. Some movement after a redesign is normal, and we explain what to expect.

Switching platform, changing domain or merging two sites raises the risk, so those decisions are made deliberately, not as part of a design refresh.

Who owns the site and the domain

Your domain name, hosting account and analytics should be registered in your business name, with you as the administrator. That is how you keep control if you change suppliers or staff. Ask every agency, including us, who owns the accounts. The answer should be you. Custom deliverables follow the agreed payment, licence and handover terms in the proposal, and third party software and licensed images keep their own terms. We give your team training so routine edits do not require a developer.

What drives the price

We do not publish a menu price for websites, because two sites that look alike can differ widely in scope. These are the things that move the cost.

  • Number and type of pages. A five page brochure site and a service business with thirty pages are different projects.
  • Custom design and components. A bespoke layout takes more design time than a refined standard structure.
  • Content. Writing, photography and video take time. Reusing sound existing content lowers the cost.
  • Features. Booking, quote calculators, member areas, store functions, multiple languages and integrations all add work. Our online store service covers selling products.
  • Migration. Moving many existing pages, with redirects and checks, adds careful work.
  • Ongoing hosting and updates. Third party costs are listed separately.

Every website is scoped and quoted in writing after a free consultation. Our web design team prepares the proposal.

Kart Town today
We’ve been working with Canada Create for the past two and a half years, and we truly appreciate how much hard work, creativity, and care they have put into helping Kart Town grow.
Running an indoor playground, kids’ go-karting, and birthday party venue in Toronto takes a lot of heart. Every booking represents a family trusting us with their child’s special day. Canada Create understands that, and their dedication to helping us reach more families has meant so much to us.
They redesigned our website into something we’re proud to share—making it easier for parents to explore our birthday packages and book their celebrations. Their ongoing SEO work has helped us achieve first-page organic search rankings, visibility in Google’s local map results, and a stronger presence across other search engines. Most importantly, we’ve seen that visibility translate into more birthday bookings.
Their team also manages our Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok, bringing Kart Town’s energy to life through creative content, regular posts, and stories. They’ve helped us connect with parents, build engagement, and generate bookings through social media.
Alongside that, they manage our Google Search PPC campaigns and Google Maps advertising, helping families discover us when they’re looking for somewhere special to celebrate.
There is also so much work happening behind the scenes: monthly technical SEO, website speed improvements, and ongoing blog content creation. Our blog now has more than 117 published articles, reflecting the consistent effort they’ve invested in our online presence.
What we appreciate most is how much they care. Over two and a half years, Amir and the Canada Create team have put real thought and effort into understanding our business and helping it succeed.
Thank you for helping more families discover Kart Town and giving us more opportunities to create happy birthday memories. We wholeheartedly recommend Canada Create to business owners looking for a dedicated, creative, and hardworking marketing team.

Working with Canada Create has meant so much to me and my business, ProDerma Clinic. When you put your heart into caring for your clients, you want your website and online presence to reflect that same care. I’m so happy with the work Amir and his team have done to help me present my clinic and services with confidence.

They created a beautiful, professional website that brings together my treatments and makes it easy for visitors to learn about the clinic, explore their options, and book a consultation. Having a website I feel proud to share is a wonderful feeling. It gives people an introduction to ProDerma before they even walk through the door.

Their work has also included Google Business Profile optimization, helping me strengthen how my clinic appears on Google Search and Maps. For a local clinic in downtown Toronto, making it easier for people to find accurate information about my services, location, and booking options is incredibly valuable.

What stays with me most is the care and effort behind the work. I’m grateful to Amir and the Canada Create team for helping me build an online presence that reflects the business I’m working so hard to grow.

I would happily recommend Canada Create to other clinic owners and business owners looking for website design, Google Business Profile optimization, and thoughtful marketing guidance. Thank you for supporting ProDerma Clinic and for putting so much heart into your work!

I can't say enough good things about my experience with Canada Create, and especially Amir Vincent, one of the owners. His personal involvement made all the difference.

As the owner of a boutique medical aesthetics practice, my business is very personal to me. I wanted a website that showed not just my services, but the philosophy, warmth and individualized care behind my practice. I had a very particular vision, and Canada Create brought it to life more beautifully than I imagined.

From day one, Amir was professional, enthusiastic and detail-oriented, and he took a real interest in understanding my business. He and his team treated the project as a partnership. They took the time to learn what makes my practice unique and how to communicate that to new clients.

The website is beautiful. It's elegant, welcoming and thoughtfully designed, from the overall look and photography to how the information is laid out. It feels authentic to my brand and makes exactly the impression I was hoping for.

They also arranged a professional photoshoot for my practice, which was a highlight. The photos add a personal touch that captures the personality of my business. That matters so much in an industry built on trust and connection.

I've been just as impressed by their technical knowledge. Canada Create manages my website analytics and helps me understand how the site is performing and how to grow my online presence over time. That ongoing support is invaluable. They understand a website has to do more than look good. It has to help build the business.

Their communication, patience and willingness to listen have been wonderful. They took my ideas seriously while bringing their own expertise and creative suggestions. I always felt valued as a person, not just another client. I've spent years building a practice that reflects my values, so I really appreciate people who take pride in their work, and I see that in Amir and his team.

I'm so proud of what we've created together and look forward to continuing to work with Canada Create as my practice grows. If you're considering a new website, a brand refresh or a stronger online presence, I recommend them wholeheartedly.

Amir, thank you for your guidance, dedication and care. And thank you to the whole Canada Create team for turning my vision into something so beautiful. A five-star experience!

I had a great experience working with this business. They helped me build my tutoring website from scratch and guided me through the entire process.

Working with Canada Create and Amir Vincent has been an absolute game-changer. I came to them looking for help with social media strategy and creative edits, and they didn’t just deliver, they elevated everything. From the first call, Amir’s clarity, professionalism, and creative eye stood out. You can tell this team genuinely cares about brand quality and impact, not just ticking boxes.

They took my ideas, refined them with precision, and turned them into polished, scroll-stopping content that actually converts. Every edit felt intentional, every post had strategy behind it, and the communication was seamless. No ego, no fluff just pure execution and results.

What impressed me most was Amir’s leadership. He’s not just a CEO, he’s a creative visionary who pushes for excellence in every detail. He listens, adapts, and brings real insight to the table. It’s rare to find a partner who can merge design aesthetics, marketing psychology, and performance thinking like that.

If you’re serious about growing your brand, sharpening your content game, or leveling up your digital presence Canada Create is the team you want in your corner. Amir and his crew don’t play small; they build brands that command attention.

Web design in Edmonton: common questions

How much does web design cost in Edmonton?

It depends on the number of pages, custom design, content, features such as booking or a store, and how much must be migrated. We scope and quote every site in writing after a free consultation. Hosting and licences are listed separately.

Is web design still worth it with AI tools?

Yes. AI can draft pages, but a business site still needs a clear structure, accurate local details, proof that you are real and a route to an enquiry. Search and AI answers favour clear, verified information.

Can AI build my website on its own?

It can produce a quick draft, but it does not know your Edmonton service area, your credentials, your photographs or how your customers decide. Someone still has to plan, check, build and maintain it.

What makes a good business website in Edmonton?

A good website says what you do and who it is for on the first screen, loads quickly on a phone, shows your phone number and hours, and gives each service its own page. Everything else is detail.

Who owns the website and domain?

You do. The domain, hosting and analytics should be registered in your business name. Custom deliverables follow the payment, licence and handover terms in your proposal, and third party software keeps its own terms.

Will a redesign hurt my Google rankings?

It can if it is rushed. We inventory the pages that bring traffic, keep addresses that work, redirect the rest and check indexing after launch. Some movement is normal and we explain what to expect.

How do you make a site fast on phones in winter?

We size and compress images, limit scripts, choose sound hosting, avoid heavy sliders and test on real phones over a mobile connection, because many Edmonton searches happen in a car, a parking lot or on a job site.

Do I need separate pages for Sherwood Park and St. Albert?

Only if you have real work, a real team or a real location there. Otherwise a clear service area section on strong service pages usually performs better than near duplicate suburb pages.

Can you make the site accessible?

Yes. We design for contrast, readable type, keyboard use, form labels and descriptive links, and test to the standard and coverage agreed in your proposal. It helps every visitor and matters to public sector buyers.

What time zone do you work in for Edmonton clients?

Mountain Time is two hours behind Toronto, so we schedule calls and reviews in your morning. Urgent matters reach us on the 24/7 toll-free line at +1 (800) 808-9235.

Let's talk
You don't want to miss this

What most Edmonton websites miss

Most sites say they serve the Edmonton area and stop there. Few name the south side, the west end or the Capital Region towns, show a tappable number on the first screen, or load quickly on a phone in winter, which is where many local decisions are made.
