Each section features an ‘Attribute Relevance’ slider that adjusts how your site’s search engine prioritizes and ranks that content.
Content that aligns with a highly relevant attribute will rank higher in search results, while content that corresponds to a less relevant attribute will appear lower in the results.
By default, all attribute sliders are set to ‘low,’ but you can easily adjust this by dragging the slider to the right.
Every WordPress site is distinct, so experimenting with different relevancy settings can help you achieve the most accurate and useful search results.
Once you are satisfied with the configuration of the search algorithm, scroll to the top of the page and click the ‘Save’ button.
SearchWP will now automatically rebuild the index.
The time this takes may vary based on your Internet connection speed and the performance of your WordPress hosting provider.
Once you see ‘Index Status 100%,’ it means that SearchWP has successfully indexed your content.
Option 2: Create a Custom Search Form
While the default WordPress search form is functional, it lacks advanced features. Customizing the search form can enhance its effectiveness for your website and better meet your users’ needs.
After creating a custom search algorithm in SearchWP, you can proceed to build your own search form. To do this, navigate toSearchWP»Search Formsand click the ‘Add New’ button.
This action will create a new search form that you can edit and style to your preference.
For instance, you can modify the placeholder text in the search field, select a form style, adjust the font size, customize the button style, and more.

Once your search form is created, you can place it anywhere on your WordPress website.
Consider adding a search bar to your navigation menu. This is an ideal location for a search function, as it allows users to easily locate it and quickly find the information they need.
Alternatively, you can place the search form within your WordPress post.

Option 3: Enable Searchable PDF Files in WordPress

In the popup that appears, make sure to select the ‘Document Content’ checkbox if it’s not already checked.
This option instructs SearchWP to index the contents of your PDFs, Microsoft Office documents, text files, and other files stored in the WordPress media library.
Additionally, be sure to check the ‘PDF Metadata’ box. This allows SearchWP to index important PDF metadata that is not included in the file’s content, such as the title, author, subject, and keywords.
Once you are satisfied with your changes, click the ‘Done’ button. The options for ‘Document Content’ and ‘PDF Metadata’ will now be visible in the ‘Media’ section.
You will see that each item features a scale for ‘Applicable Attribute Relevance.’
By default, the sliders for Document Contents and PDF Metadata are positioned to the far left, indicating they have minimal impact. To enhance the influence of document content and PDF metadata on WordPress search results, simply adjust the sliders to the right.
After making these adjustments, remember to click ‘Save’ to rebuild the index and ensure relevant PDFs are included in the search results.

Option 4: Activate the Search By Category feature in WordPress.

Option 7: How to Create a Custom Post Type Search Form in WordPress

To achieve this, create a dedicated search form that focuses solely on your custom posts by navigating toSearchWP»Search Forms. Here, click the ‘Add New’ button.
You can now assign a descriptive title to the form.
This title is for your reference, so feel free to use anything that helps you recognize the form in your WordPress dashboard. This is especially useful if you intend to create multiple search forms.
By default, the form will search through media, pages, and posts while excluding custom post types.
To include custom post types in the search, locate the ‘Type of search’ field and click on it.
You can now enter the name of each custom post type.
When the desired post type appears, click on it to add it to the search criteria.
Do you want to restrict the search to custom post types only, excluding all other content?
Click the small ‘X’ next to ‘Media’, ‘Pages’, and ‘Posts’ to remove them.
This will allow the form to search exclusively within your custom post types.

Once you are satisfied with the form configuration, scroll to the top of the page and click ‘Save’ to apply your changes.
You can now insert the search form into any page, post, or widget-ready area using the Search Form block.
Navigate to the area where you want to display the form. Click the ‘+’ button and search for ‘Search Form.’
When the appropriate block appears, click on it.
Next, open the ‘Select a Form’ dropdown menu and choose the search form you wish to display.
When you’re ready to activate the search form, click either ‘Update’ or ‘Publish’. You can now visit your WordPress site to see the search form in action.
