How to Add a Scrolling News Ticker to Your WordPress Site
During our research on creating a news ticker, we discovered that using a plugin is the simplest approach. While custom CSS can provide some customization, it may not be the best option for beginners.
The top plugin for this task is the Ditty News Ticker, which we consider one of the best WordPress news plugins available.
With this plugin, you can easily incorporate moving, scrolling, and sliding content into your website, and customize the animation’s direction, spacing, speed, and style.

After activation, navigate to Ditty » Add New in your WordPress dashboard and click the ‘Add Default’ button.
You can now create your first item for the responsive news ticker. In the ‘Content’ box, simply enter the text you want to display on the scrolling ticker.
This is a great place to make announcements or share important information, much like a website banner. For instance, you could inform customers about an upcoming sale or highlight recent posts.
Additionally, you can include links in the news item, allowing visitors to easily access the relevant page or post featured in the ticker.
Simply enter a URL in the ‘Link’ field.

On this screen, click the ‘Change Type’ link.
In the popup window, select ‘Ticker’ and then click ‘Update Type’.
You can now customize the appearance and behavior of the ticker on your WordPress site.
This includes adjusting the scroll direction, speed, and spacing between ticker items.
You can select from various styles for the ticker container, items, titles, and more. Most of these options are intuitive, so it’s beneficial to explore them and decide on the adjustments you want to implement.

Next, you are ready to integrate the ticker into your site using a shortcode. To obtain this shortcode, click on the ‘Settings’ tab.
