Method 1: Displaying Multiple Social Media Follower Counts Using a WordPress Plugin
This method allows you to showcase multiple social media follower counts on your WordPress site. If you have a significant following across various networks, this is an excellent way to demonstrate your influence.
For this, we will use the Ultimate Social Icons plugin, which connects with over 200 platforms and enables you to easily display subscriber counts for multiple networks simultaneously.
Begin by installing and activating the plugin. For detailed instructions, refer to our comprehensive guide on installing a WordPress plugin.
Once activated, a new menu option labeled ‘Ultimate Social Media Icons’ will appear in your WordPress admin panel.
Click on this option to access the plugin settings.
Next, select the drop-down menu labeled ‘Which icons do you want to show on your site?’ and check the boxes for the social icons you wish to display.
Then, expand the drop-down menu titled ‘What do you want the icons to do?’ Here, you can set the actions that visitors can take when they interact with your icons.
For instance, if you choose Facebook, you can allow users to like your page, visit your page, and more.
Next, expand the section titled ‘Where shall they be displayed?’
In this section, you can select the locations where your icons will be shown.
You will have several options, including adding them to a widget, having them hover over your site, using a shortcode, and more.
If you prefer the flexibility to place the subscriber count anywhere on your site, check the ‘Place via shortcode’ box.
This will provide you with a shortcode that you can insert anywhere on your WordPress site.
If you’re using the shortcode option, be sure to copy it, as we’ll be adding it to your site in a later step.
Now, it’s time to set up your subscriber counts. Click on the dropdown that says ‘Do you want to display counts next to your icons’ and select the ‘Yes’ radio button.
Below that, you may need to provide additional information based on the platforms and services you previously selected.
For instance, to show your Facebook subscriber count, you’ll need to input your Facebook page ID.
The plugin clearly explains the steps you need to take and the information required for each social network.
After configuring the plugin settings, scroll to the bottom of the page and click the ‘Save All Settings’ button.

The live preview will automatically refresh, allowing you to experiment with the settings to find what suits you best. You can also adjust the width and height of your Facebook plugin.
To decrease the size of your Facebook content, check the ‘Use Small Header’ option. You can also opt to hide the Facebook cover photo entirely by selecting the ‘Hide Cover Photo’ option.

One of the simplest methods to showcase your Twitter feed and follower count on your WordPress site is by using the Smash Balloon Twitter Feed Pro plugin. This plugin is highly regarded for its ease of use and effectiveness.

Step 3.How to Display Your Email List Subscriber Count in WordPress
Displaying your email subscriber count can encourage more readers to sign up for your email list. If you boast a substantial email list, showcasing this number can serve as powerful social proof.
We will be using Constant Contact for this process, but the steps are quite similar if you are using other email marketing platforms like HubSpot, Drip, Brevo (formerly Sendinblue), or any other service.
First, log into your account and navigate to the ‘Contacts’ tab, then select the smaller ‘Contacts’ option from the menu.
This will display the total number of email subscribers you have. Make sure to note this number, as you will need to add it to your website.
You can display the subscriber count on any page, post, or widget area of your website.
We’ll guide you through adding it to a sidebar widget, but the process is similar for other locations.
First, navigate to Appearance » Widgets. In this section, click the ‘Plus’ icon to add a block, then search for and select the ‘Paragraph’ widget.
You can customize the text to your liking, including placing it above your email subscription forms, popups for both desktop and mobile, and more.
After making your changes, be sure to click the ‘Update’ button to save your updates.
Now, visit your website to see your email subscriber count displayed in real-time.
While this method requires manual updates, you can easily refresh your subscriber count by logging into your email marketing service to ensure the numbers are accurate.
Consider setting a reminder to update this information monthly or quarterly.
Method 4.Showcasing the Total Number of Registered Users in WordPress
Some websites allow user registration, enabling visitors to comment, post, and engage in various activities on the site.
Many platforms, including membership sites, online courses, and WordPress forums, offer user registration during the sign-up process.
If you have a significant number of registered users, showcasing this figure can motivate more visitors to sign up.
To implement this feature, you will need to insert code into your WordPress site. If you’re unfamiliar with this process, check out our guide on adding code snippets to WordPress.
You can insert the following code snippet directly into your functions.php file, or utilize a code snippet plugin like WPCode (which we recommend).
Note:There is a free version of the WPCode plugin, but you’ll need WPCode Pro to create a custom shortcode. More details are provided below.
// Function to retrieve user count
function wpb_user_count() {
$usercount = count_users();
$result = $usercount['total_users'];
return $result;
}
Ensure you select ‘PHP Snippet’ from the Code Type drop-down menu. Then, toggle the switch at the top of the page to ‘Active’ and click the ‘Save Snippet’ button to save your code.
Next, you’ll need to create a shortcode that allows you to display the registered user count anywhere on your WordPress site.
Scroll down to the ‘Insertion’ section and select the ‘Shortcode’ option next to ‘Insert Method’.
WPCode will automatically generate a new shortcode for you. In the screenshot above, it appears as [wpcode id="868"], but it may differ for your specific website.
If you are using the Pro version of WPCode, you can create a custom shortcode with a more descriptive name. For instance, we have used the shortcode [wpb_user_count].
Be sure to click the ‘Update’ button at the top of the page to save the code snippet with the new shortcode, and then copy your shortcode using one of the ‘Copy’ buttons.
Now you can navigate to any page, post, or widget area where you want to display the user count.
In this example, we will demonstrate how to add it to a widget-ready area of a classic theme. However, the steps are similar for any other section of your website.
Simply go to Appearance » Widgets, click the ‘Plus’ add block icon, search for ‘Custom HTML’, and select that block.
Please note that the shortcode only shows the number of registered users. Without any context, it may appear as just a random number.
To help visitors recognize your subscriber count, it’s beneficial to include some explanatory text. For instance, you could use the following HTML format.
There are [wpb_user_count] amazing individuals subscribed to this blog!
Ensure that you enter the correct shortcode here if yours differs.
After customizing, remember to click the ‘Update’ button to save your changes.
Now, you can visit your site to see the live count of your registered users.
On our test site, you can find this information displayed on the left side of the page.
If you’re not comfortable modifying your site’s code, another option is to use a plugin. To learn more, check out our guide on displaying the total number of registered users in WordPress.
You can also create a list of recently registered users. For more information, see our guide on how to display recently registered users in WordPress.
